A go-to book for GF novices and veterans
I have all of Carol's cookbooks, including the original GF 101, so I wasn't sure I really needed this one, but I've found myself opening it again and again. It has a great list of ingredients by brand (vetting already done--saves lots of time and gets me into recipes I have been avoiding because they call for some ingredient I just don't feel like checking into). It has beautiful pictures, which is inspiring. It stays open when I lay it on my counter. The recipes are for the foods you really want, and they are super easy to follow. Results of the baking spree I had last week were excellent: Bran-Spice Muffins (crowned beautifully and were hearty), Corn Bready (yum), Breadsticks (I wasn't paying very good attention when I made these and they were still excellent), and Lemon Bars (tasty). See what I mean? This is the stuff we need the most often. This one keeps coming off my bookshelf. There's a reason for that.

Excellent GF Cookbook
The recipes are good and not too difficult for a person who is new to GFcooking. The author has her own GF flour blend made up of 3 GF flours-- at first this seemed too much trouble but I purchased several inexpensive containers for storing everything and then labeled each one. In the end, it may be less expensive to create your own.I made the Veggie Pizza on pg 128 and really liked it. Also the chicken fingers on pg. 122- another recipe that calls for creating your own "basic seasoned breaking mix". They were somewhat dry and I would serve them with a sauce next time. I am sure this book and Carol Fenster's "100 Best Gluten-free Recipes" will be my reference books for GF cooking.

GREAT UPDATE!
I have the original Gluten-Free 101. Well loved recipe book. The new version is very thorough with lots of great info and recipe updates.I must tell you.... the 'updated' pizza crust is awesome. If you use her original pizza crust recipe (on her blog or food.com)....this one tops it. One tweak makes an amazing difference. While her original pizza crust recipe has always been a favorite of mine, I've been searching (about 7 years) for that gf perfect crust. I found it. Family members (who can eat gluten) love it.Due to sorghum intolerance, I use her flour blend with brown rice flour option for other recipe favorites.Buy it!!This is a purchase you won't regret:)ps Please go to her blog and try the breadstick recipe also....yum.

A Great Guide
Lot's of people have decided to drop Gluten, for serious health reasons and others. Mine falls into others. I was told perhaps the pain in my thumbs, which was diagnosed as arthritis, would go away if I went gluten free. I'm 5 weeks into it and the pain has lessened considerably. This book helped begin my journey with tons of helpful ideas. Whatever your reason, this is a great start.

Not what I was hoping for.
Way too many meat recipes and not enough for someone trying to cut meat to a minimum in their diet.

Cook, Eat, Enjoy!
I am novice cook so the directions help. Have used several recipes, all are very good. I do not use all of her flour suggestions, no room in the cabinets, and money is tight. That is the down side. Otherwise, cook, eat, enjoy. Go for the Spice Bundt Cake! YUMMM!

Informative
I had met Carol Fenster several years ago and from that meeting and conversation I knew she had a wealth of information to share. This book is a must for those of use facing gluten issues.

Gluten Free 101
A lot of very wonderful information in this cookbook on exchanges of ingredients. Very good recipes and tasty. My only issue with some of this is I was hoping for easier recipes to make.

Great book as a first GF step
Great book. I was looking for a GF book which gave the actual flour blends. This one did. Although the measurements are in US cups, this can be converted into grams for accurate measurements. Simply google conversion of US cups into grams and/ or litres for liquids.
