Gyulai Scout Smoked Sausage, 4 links, approx. 1.4lb

I have purchased this sausage a number of times usually direct from Bende. However, I let myself be swayed by the price and convenience of Amazon shopping. Opened the package and I immediately thought it didn't look right. A couple pieces had a white film. The sausages were darker than I remember and just appeared old and not fresh. In fact I tried looking for a calendar code date to no avail. It tasted okay-just okay but in the future I will be it direct from Bende.

I like to hang this in a clean, safe area, with a drain pan for a few weeks. Dries to an almost jerky consistency and most of the grease/fat drains out. Delicious as is or add to soups, casseroles, scramble eggs, omelets, stews.... Yum. Which reminds me I need to order more.

Excellent sausage.

The sausage is good at first bite,But has a strange rancid oil type aftertaste that only leaves after a good brushing of the teeth.Good consistency,pretty to look at,but scared to share with others.

Great sausage! Even better if you leave it out to dry for a few weeks!

I cannot use it. Product arrived with mold on it that can be seen through the package. No expiration date anywhere on the package.
