Smith Optics Forefront 2 MIPS Mountain Cycling Helmet

Excellent fit, super light and comfy, breathes fantastic. Crashed a few weeks ago, hit my head, broke a couple ribs. This helmet saved me. I’ll be buying a third (first saved me from a nasty head first crash earlier this year, I replace helmets after bad crashes).

This is my second one. I have the previous one still, but the visor is cracked after a fall I took a few months ago. I use these for road biking, although they are said to be MTB. They are good on the cooler days. They are sturdier than the road bike helmets and have more protection on the back of the head. All my helmets have MIPS technology. I think it works. These helmets are a little hotter than normal road bike types because they have a honeycomb material for protection so there are no gaps on the top as with normal helmets. For me this is an added plus when there are bees present. I ride on back roads where there are quite a few bees, some from honey farms in the area. I have had more than one occasion when they have gotten in from the top and stung me on the head when I have short hair. Bees cannot get into this one. On hot days I use a different helmet with more ventilation bees or not. I recommend this helmet highly for road biking. I don't know how it works for MTB because I no longer do that.

I'm just getting started with this helmet, but so far I am very impressed. The construction and attention to detail is very good. Easy to adjust and a very comfortable fit. I thought it was a little on the pricey side, but after purchasing and riding with it I'm glad I made the purchase. A much better fit than previous helmets. Plus, I feel like I have good protection. As much as we spend for bikes and accessories, insurance for the head is a pretty good investment!

I have owned numerous "cheap" helmets in my life, and although this is the first "real" helmet I have owned I am thoroughly impressed. The additional feeling of cooling over the cheap ones alone makes it worth. The feeling of near weightlessness is a very close second in terms of making it worth it. Would buy again in a heartbeat, but not if I were on a budget

I have gotten many complements on my new forefront helmet. Didn't realize people have been judging me by my dome protection for so many years. Glad to be one of the cool kids now! ... good helmet for real though. lightweight, breathable, and looks cool. Worth the extra coin if your worried about the price.

I've been MTB with a $250 cycling helmet I bought 15 years ago. I loved that helmet and was afraid to change because I didn't think I would like any other helmet as much. My wife was always making fun of me wearing a cycling helmet MTB. She got me this one for Christmas. This helmet is light and has great ventilation. I don't even notice I'm wearing it. The helmet stays in place, fits snuggly, and doesn't slide around when you hit bumps. On top of all the benefits it looks cool. I don't know if you can find a better helmet for the money. I'm extremely satisfied and don't miss my old helmet.

This is a really nice helmet. Helmets, or anything that goes on my head, rarely get my approval. I guess I have an odd shaped head or something because every other helmet I’ve worn is uncomfortable. This helmet is great, it gets snug without getting uncomfortable. Well ventilated and even stylish. Extra point for the straps, they lay flat and aren’t annoying.

I love having both MIPS and Koroyd protection in a helmet that looks great. The fit is pretty good and the airflow is refreshing. The only knock is the slightly uncomfortable feeling against just some parts of my head. Nothing serious or distracting, just not perfect.

it saved my head from being unconscious. I just had an accident two days ago.. I wondering if this helmet have a warranty that can replaced. I've used this helmet about 4 months. I was going to reused it but unfortunately officer said it's only one time used they had to cut the straps.

Aerodynamically this helmet creates a still area around my eyes so that if I don't have glasses on there is little wind on my eyes to make me squint or tear up.It is significantly less hot that my previous helmet that was all styrofoam.The straps are soft and easy to adjust and these is no wind noise created by them.Light weight
