My Batman when I was growing up
This book was a nostalgia trip for me having had the original issues years ago. A perfect book in my mind

Batman and Robin II
“Batman – The Caped Crusader 1” collects issues #417-425, #430, #431 and Annual #2, running from March 1988 to March 1989.This is the post-Crisis Batman, with the revamped origin (issues #404-407) published separately in “Batman: Year One”, and the gap in this volume’s numbering - #426-429 – contains “A Death in the Family”, of which “least said, soonest mended”.I read these comics when they were first published, and I remember being disappointed by them, as I was expecting great things from Jim Starlin, and instead got run-of-the-mill Batman stories, the sort of stuff that made DC the second-best publisher, after Marvel, though they do mostly have Jim Aparo on art, who was one of the best Batman artists of his day. Actually, make that one of the best comic-book artists of his day, as he could turn his hand to anything and do it superbly.
