Works Great
This is the "Magic" box that thousands of US owners of NEW Smart TV's are looking for. The TV manufacturers in their wisdom have stopped providing a "audio-out" facility on their TV's..... It has driven me made for the last three weeks, trying all sorts of connections, and listening to "customer forums" each with more complicated solutions than the last,for someone who wants to just couple-in their existing wireless headphones to the system...... This little box is the answer to ALL our prayers,,, just couple in the Optical lead to this box, and the 3.5 mm jack from your Headphones transmitter base,,,,,, and all is well.... you are back to being able to hear the TV at your level without upsetting other TV watchers in the household..Absolutely brilliant... Thank you so very much... A hard of hearing pensioner.,

Died after 3 days
Did not like the fact that after 3 days of minimal use it stopped working and had to be returned otherwise it was easy to set up. Highly disappointed but return and refund process easy and quick

Cannot control loudness
The unit works as advertised, no issues. The problem is, the Samsung digital output volume cannot be controlled by the remote, or at all for that matter. The remote only controls internal speaker volume. So I cannot use my vintage Bose roommate speakers like I used to with a TV that had a simple headphone jack with volume control. Guess I'll have to spend hundreds on a Samsung sound bar to upgrade the sound beyond the fairly horrible internal speakers.

Perfect!
I wanted to get one of these to connect my LG tv & LG CM4550 Stereo system, strangely they weren't compatible, but my tv only has digital optical audio output so I ran that line into this converter & plugged the RCA jacks into my LG Stereo & it makes my TV sound amazing, no need for surround sound now!

Great product, good price
I bought a new 4K UHD TV with no analog outputs for my headphone; only an optical output, aside from the usual HDMI. This converter works perfectly and was very easy to setup; nothing to adjust for tweak. Even came with the optical cable.

Private listening
I wanted to use headphones on my TV that does not have a 3.5mm headphones jack, but does have an optical out. I first tried it with earphones but they were overpowered and sounded bad. Then I connected headphones and they sound great.This device converts the optical audio out, spdf, to both RCA audio outs and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

works sound come through but has a lot of feedback and the power cable is way too short only 2ft

Works well for Bose Lifestyle 12
I bought this to hookup my new TV to my old Bose Lifestyle 12 5.1 surround sound system. Works like a charm, with no reduction in sound quality. Be sure to set your audio out settings on your TV or other device to PCM and stereo - anything else will just not work, and you will hear no sound. My only complaint is that the optical cable is quite thin, and could be subject to easy pinching or severing if not handled carefully. If you are the type of person who keeps care of your electronics, then you should have no problem.
