I love the way these stair stickers look on our basement stairs! So unique and fun! They were easy to attach, although there was a little trimming involved to make them the exact size for our stair risers. We made a template and then cut them to size. I like the books because they will be easier to replace if one gets torn than some of the other designs.

I thought I'd give these colorful 'contact paper' like vinyl graphics a try; to spice up my basement steps. I was very pleasantly surprised how nice and easy these were to work with... meaning pull back up and reposition if you screw up a little. I noticed I had one extra of the same pinkish red color, so it wasn't needed since I only have 12 steps; and the set I ordered was for 13. So, it worked out perfectly and I placed the blue sticker on the very bottom. I think it looks great! (I attached 2 pics and was not paid for theis review)

This is a very lovely effect on our stairs but because it is contact paper it is not an easy project. My late husband was a professional wallpaper hanger of great notoriety. He hung paper for the Rockefeller Center in Phoenix, Dick Van Dyke’s home, Amanda Blake's home and many more. He has often said that he would not even consider hanging contact paper because it is not forgiving and the installation of it is quite tedious. BOY WAS HE RIGHT! It is not easy and it took me seven hours to do our stairs. Regular wall paper would have been much easier because you can move it around to position it. I do love the look of it. If you must take it off to reposition it, ...it may not re-adhere to your surface. Make very sure that the surface is clean. You should buy extra just in case. Also watch for your shadows on the design so that you place it properly. We have received several compliments on our staircase.

Pros:▪️I *love* the look!▪️The contact paper is easy to apply and adjust, similar to shelf paper.▪️The pieces are quite large, and I think would fit most risers.▪️The paint-like pattern will likely hide scuffs better than a solid.Cons:▪️Only 13 pieces, and I have 15 steps, so had to buy 2 sets.▪️The pieces are vinyl, and can crack while applying, especially to uneven surfaces.▪️I applied to primed but not painted surface, which worked, but placing over a semi-gloss painted riser probably would be easier to remove/reposition.Tips:▪️I laid out all the pieces on the floor to determine the order I liked (more of a sequential rainbow than what is pictured on Amazon.)▪️ I trimmed each piece to slightly larger than my riser before removing backing. Then I carefully stuck it down, lining up the bottom edge, then trimmed sides and top edge to fit.▪️because i ended up with 2 sets, I had repeats of the paint. I ended up with 2 purple on top 2 steps and 2blues on the bottom. Just to be sure they weren’t too matchy-matchy, I made sure I flipped the second one and centered it differently.▪️it was also handy to have the extras since one piece cracked while I was applying it.

Took a lot of effort to place on the steps and after a few weeks it has started peeling away.

These look amazing on these basement stairs. It’s my Airbnb home so there’s people constantly going up and down and not one has come undone. I seem good and bad things about them but they really look amazing. My basement is more of a rustic look so they wouldn’t do as well like on my modern stairs so that’s the only thing you need to think about before you put them up.

Easy to place just follow instructions and you’ll get the look you want. I Love It!!!!
