Calamus Essential Oil (Acorus Calamus Sweet Cane Sweet Flag) 100% Pure and Natural 15 ML

Has a nice woody smell i think. It's a distinct smell that is hard to place. I bought it because it's part of the anointing oil recipe in the Bible and it's supposed to be good for brain function. The Bible refers to it "sweet cane". This doesn't smell very sweet so i don't know if maybe i bought the wrong part of the plant. I will have to do more research. Until then, its not bad. it's a mild and mellow woody smell. If there is any sweetness in it, it's in the "after smell" that's left behind. but too faint for my sense of smell to detect anything too sweet. Maybe Biblically what they referred to as sweet is not what we call sweet today.

elmer's glue, milky, smokey, dusty, almost vetiver smelling but a milky, soft vetiver. If you want to know what vetiver smells like without buying it, just pop in to your nearest Dillard's store. shoes, leather, clothes, carpet, smells like vetiver, maybe they purposely scent the air in their stores? It vetiver is used as a prolonger of scent for perfumes, with a dusty, vivid smell. This Calamus smells like a dillards, softer, with a wood fire place burning logs in the backgroud. I think this would make a great perfume ingredient, which is what I am going to use it for.

This oil smelled terrible, unfortunately I hadn't opened it until after the return window had passed. I contacted the seller and was basically told that not all oils smell good. Okay, well a very unpleasant fishy odor is *NOT* what calamus should smell like.
