Most enjoyable
I am thoroughly enjoying these "weird' books. So far I am purchasing books related to states close to my own - beloved Tennessee. I have hopes to visiting these neighboring states and don't want to miss any unique or obscure places if I can prevent it. Weird Carolinas is so very interesting to me. It is fun reading and I am having fun reading aloud some of the bits and pieces to my husband. He enjoys these books as well. I am very pleased with this purchase and if I am fortunate enough to travel all of these surrounding states, I am plan to venture further and will be purchasing other 'weird' books. I recommend them as entertaining reading, informative reading and just plain fun. Five stars for sure.

but even I found some of the blurbs quite fun. Easy to read
Who knew there was so much to learn about the Carolinas? Bought this as a gift for a friend who frequently inhabits North Carolina for family vacations and now I think he might even venture to South Carolina to explore some of the factoids/places found in this book. We live in California, where I was born and raised, so consider my own knowledge of both Carolinas very minute, but even I found some of the blurbs quite fun. Easy to read, with pictures to accompany everything, and a nice quality to the pages.

Things you never knew, even if you lived next door!
Fun book about local legends and history. Buy this if you're doing research on family history or if you're planning a trip to the carolina's. Or if you live there and want to be a good host, tourist in your own state or have a cool coffee table book.Lots of fun "Party" conversation starters!

Ok, but dry for the subject matter.
I've read several other books from the "WEIRD" series, but this one is probably my least favorite. As a 'weird' resident of Virginia, I wanted to know more about the lurking weirdness in my fellow states, and while this book gives several good stories I didn't enjoy the writing style as much. This is not to say that the book isn't good, but there are others in the series that surpass it by far. If you enjoy weird anecdotes and odd historical events and are a completist like I am, go for it. If you're wanting something a bit more titillating, try one of the other books. I myself liked the Indiana, Kentucky, and New England books better.

Fun and easy read
Visited the Carolinas this summer for the first time, and wanted a bookish souvenir. Love this series because you get more info than your typical guide book. Lots of quirky information and anecdotes about these beautiful States.
