Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid: Elma's Office Lady Diary Vol. 1

Next to Elma, Henry VIII was a very finicky eater
Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid is a top favorite series and I also like its first spinoff, Kanna's Daily Life. Now, there is a new series, featuring Tohru's frenemy Elma. I wasn't sure Elma would lend herself to a solo series as well as Kanna, but Elma's Office Lady Diary works very well. Elma certainly proves herself eager to be of aid at Miss Kobayashi's workplace. She also discovers a passion for the food of Earth (next to Elma, Henry VIII was a very finicky eater). Very enjoyable is Elma's naivete about human society. We see her trying to fit in over lunch. She goes to a mixer, dragging a very reluctant Miss Kobayashi along, but really doesn't get how things are supposed to go. Elma recruits Lucoa to help her buy clothes and tries to learn the art of baking a pound cake from Tohru. Elma's Office Lady Diary is a fine addition to the Tohru/Kobayashi world. So next, do you suppose we might see a series featuring Lucoa and Shouta?

The bigger your body, the stronger you get!
I prevaricated for a while about ordering this after being very underwhelmed with Kanna's spin-off. This could not be more different. I laughed and laughed. Elma's inability to remember she's in the human world (and blunt answers) leads to many misunderstandings. Food continues to be her Achilles' heel, and earns her the title "banned." The disappearing pound cake batter is particularly funny. This is well drawn, and I love when the little dragons help illustrate a point. I will definitely collect this one if it continues.

Very cute and humorous.
This is a well drawn manga about food and office work. Mostly food.As the cover image reveals, the main character, Elma, has a rather large chest. This might lead you to believe the comic is all about "fan service." But it really isn't. There is a cute story and the fan service is rather minimal. One chapter had me laughing out loud, which I don't usually do with comics.Unlike many manga I have read, this one is easy to follow. I will be buying volume 2.

Amazing spin-off
I bought this manga along with the first volume of the original Dragon Maid, at the moment the Dragon Maid manga is still unopened and I’m about to end the second volume of this spin-off.What can I say? I like Elma, she’s my favourite character from the show.4 starts for the story + art.The fifth star is because of the fan service. Thanks for the fan service, 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
