Yes it will. You will get a square wave form. This unit will let you check the full range of the tachometer 's linearity and even beyond.

The frequency resolution on the push-button version is X.XX below 10Hz, and XX.X between 10.0 and 99.9Hz. Therefore, a frequency setting of 10.5Hz is obtainable. Not sure what the resolution is in these ranges for the dial-control version.

If you are looking for a way to power the WHDTS with the 12V DC vehicle power and output a PWM signal to the radiator fan you can control the fan speed. If you are wanting to fake out a module on the vehicle you could also be successful. I have purchased a few of these and mounted them in plastic project boxes with 5-way binding posts and we use them in a lab off of a DC power supply to control the speed of 3-wire computer style cooling fans.
