I like the Chip Buddie
I have now removed about 1,000 sq feet of popcorn ceiling with the this product. A 13 x 13 room takes me about four hours. Overall, this is the best product that I have seen to remove popcorn, especially in my house where the popcorn has been painted. A few comments. If the popcorn comes off in small pieces it will get sucked into the vacuum. If it comes off in large pieces then it won't get sucked up. Just plan to put down a drop cloth. Its really better this way because it won't fill up your vacuum. Also, you will scratch the ceiling if you don't hold the remover perfectly flat. I find that its best to file the corners just a little and this really helps prevent scratching. Some people complain that is small, but I find the size optimal. Much bigger and it would be more difficult to use.

Wouldn't do it any other way now.
This is the first time I have ever removed texture from a ceiling so I cannot compare this process to any other. However, this was very simple and clean. I have heard of spaying water and then scraping. I would never consider doing it that way after using the Chip Buddy. I was able to take the ceiling down to original sheet rock paper surface with no problems. 99% of the material was sucked up and the chips that hit the floor were easily swept up afterwards. I did 2 small areas of my house and have a contractor that is going to do the large rooms because I am terrible at the refinishing. I will see how his removal goes and update this post.

Works very well!
Really works well keeping 90% dust and ceiling scrape in vacuum. Scraped unpainted ceilings in basement and barely moved any furniture. Just needed a light dusting and a good vacuum for some ceiling scrape. Only one brawback, it’s a little small, so it took a while to do 300’ of ceiling, and some sore shoulders from reaching overhead.

Only good for scraping loose / peeling paint.
I bought this with the hopes it would scrape some old paint off wood. It was fine for anything that was peeling but wouldn't touch old hard paint that was still bonded to the wood. It just dulled the blade. The blades are nothing special and dull quickly. THe chip buddie contains paint chips pretty well but the housing was too flimsy to push very hard. You'd be better off laying down a tarp and using a carbide scraper.

Waste of money
Returned this quickly. It does too small of a space at a time and it wouldn’t glide across the ceiling very well

Don’t waste your time or money
I meant to return this, but missed the date to do so. It suctions the dust and paint pretty well but it leaves cut lines where you’re scraping and then you have to repair said lines if you don’t want them seen when repainted. I would not buy again. Don’t waste your money like I did by not getting it returned in time. Definitely not worth it.

Easy to use
Easy to use and keeps room clean. The dust clogs up the filter on vacuum so need to clean periodically (not fault of this tool)

Didn’t do what was needed
Might be good for a small job with max control by user like a window sill at ground level. For a big job with some tight spaces up on a ladder this wasn’t what I was hoping for. Paint chips still fly out when both pushing forward or pulling back.
