Napkins with a Twist: Fabulous Folds with Flair for Every Occasion

After reading a review in our local newspaper about this book, I decided that it would make a great gift for my mother - who is quite the entertainer. She loves having guests over for dinner and doing those extra special touches, like folding napkins, using her china and silverware and including place cards for each guest. It wasn't long after I gave her the book that I was treated to seeing some of the new folds she had learned after reading this book. I loved some of the more elegant folds, like the Tuxedo and Coronation. But my kids got a real kick out of the kite and fortune cookie. I just borrowed the book from my mother so I could take another look at the ghost. I thought that would be a fun addition to our Halloween festivities this year!

I enjoyed this book and the photographs. It was helpful that each step of the folding process is shown. My only qualm is that the space devoted to the history of the folds could have been used to just add more folding patterns. I had to go online to find a heart fold for Valentine's Day, when I was hoping the book had that fold. I used another fold from the book instead though, and my table was beautiful anyway.

I have always loved to create different napkin folds for my table when entertaining, and my guests always comment on them. David Stark creates some beautiful and fun folds. I got so many ideas for napkins and also for table settings. This book is beautiful to look at, and it also has some famous folds from the White House and other celebrated places. If you love to entertain, this is for you. The instructions are very easy to follow and the folding is fast.

We had a DIY wedding and used this book (brought by my mother in law) to figure out how to iron and fold 80 napkins. She uses it all the time for different holidays/big dinner parties and I ended up buying it for my mom after it was so helpful in guiding us for my big day. Who knew people got so into napkin folding?? If you want your table to look elegant, definitely check out this book. The folds are easy if you have a set of square napkins and an iron.

Lovely book for anyone looking for different and creative ideas on napkin folding. I loved the content: instructions were clear and helpful with lots of pictures. Content ranges from classic folds, to special event folds - thanksgiving, easter, kid parties, etc. I do think that nowadays you could easily find some of these folds online, but overall I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend this book to my friends.

Arrived quick. There are some great folds in this book. Easily to follow. Nice photos.
