Case of 12 meals. 12 meals with 2018 Inspection Date, 2015 Pack Date. Made to sustain US Military troops in combat, these are hands-down the best MREs available anywhere. Meals include a variety of tasty Asian, Mexican, Italian, traditional, and vegetarian cuisine. Meals also include a large assortment of snacks, deserts, coffee, cappuccino, milk shakes, electrolyte replenishment powders, or hot chocolate. Military MREs include an accessory pack with flavor enhancing seasonings, matches, toilet paper, and other survival essentials. SHELF LIFE: MREs do not have an expiration date. They have an inspection date and a pack date. The Inspection date is three years after the pack date, and the inspection date is the date the Military inspects the case during long term storage to verify contents are fit for consumption or continued storage. A red Time Temperature Indicator sticker (TTI) found on top of the case indicates content condition. A dark TTI indicates contents are approaching expiration, and a black TTI means Expired. Manufacturers suggest meal contents are good for approximately 5 or more years from the pack date when stored at room temperature. Meals stored in cooler temperatures stay fresh longer. Military MREs are Ideal for the following: Hiking, Fishing, Camping, Hunting, Boating, Survival Kits, Bug-Out-Bags, Prepper Stock Piles, Tactical Operations, Emergency Responders, and more. Note: Product made by Sopako, Wornick, or Ameriqual. Contents vary from case to case and what is shown in photos. Manufacturers often substitute products and change meal numbering or entrees. There are no guarantees on packed contents. Not all meals will include flameless ration heaters. Periodically, non-mil spec candy will be packaged that does not have the same shelf life as the mil-spec contents. Please inspect and read all expiration dates of non-milspec candy products.

I usually love these MREs
I usually love these MREs, and I was satisfied with this product, but a few of the wheat snack breads had mold on them, and it seems to be because the bag had been punctured. Most of these items appear to be vacuum sealed, so if you see one of the smaller snack items seem to be de-compressed, be careful. Most likely, this was just by chance considering that most of these reviews are positive, so I am giving 4 stars.

Not as new as expected
Came packaged in the original box. Having been around military all my life, this has been stored a long time.Packing was 2010 and inspection was 2013 on the box.Opened one and was fine.Only 3 stars due to it older than expected (from listing = 2018 Inspection Date, 2015 Pack Date).

While I did get some good meals out of it
I bought both the A and B menu, from two different sellers for a trip to see the eclipse in totality. Unfortunately both had issues. Maybe I was just unlucky... More than half of the meals were missing one or more items in each case. I received 24 meals, however only 23 were different, I had one repeat. The mre spoon was missing in 8-10 of the meals, some also came with no "flavor accessory packet" the one with coffee toilet paper and gum. Several meals had items that had components that were "bloomed" or on the verge of rancid. While I did get some good meals out of it, I would be concerned with buying these for long term storage. This turned out to be a real mixed bag for short term use.

Menu listings are NOT accurate
Case came in today, not as advertised. I did not receive a single A menu item from 1-12, as noted in the description some items maybe substituted, I didn't think that gave them free range to substitute the whole box. The whole menu A was substituted for menu B. Only reason this isn't a 1 star is that they are actually MRE's in good condition. If I wanted menu B I would have ordered, supremely disappointed with this...

They're great for that
UPDATE: Adding a star here, which is pretty rare for me. Basically, I've now tried just about every COMPETING product including some locally available options and I've come to the conclusion that this is the best option there is. The price is insane if you want them for regular use, but if you're objective about the actual cost of preparing a hot meal on the trail it's still a pretty good deal.I bought these to try to cut down on the junk food I was eating on hunts. They're great for that, they keep as well as they say, the packaging is very rugged so it can stand up to anything you can, and they taste great. It's really nice to have a hot lunch or dinner without having to lug around a mini stove and cookware. No cleanup, either. If I have an issue at all it's not with this company - the product is stellar. But a cautionary point for anybody buying for the same purpose as me: they're LOUD. It's beyond me how our soldiers can stand these - it's wrapper after crinkly wrapper to get them opened all the way up and consumed. For $8/ea you get a complete, nutritious, long-term-shelf-stable hot meal that includes an entree, snack, dessert, drink, coffee, and accessory pack. You can't buy a low-quality meal at a fast food joint for that these days. Definitely recommend this product.

Even though the box was labeled with a 2018 inspect ...
Even though the box was labeled with a 2018 inspect date, the menu items were circa 2015. Case A, Wornivk, Menu 7 was rancid (beef brisket w/garlic potatoes), but the rest survived storage and shipping.

The food's not bad at all
Ordered both A and B. We will use for emergency (earthquake country), camping, travel supplies. Of course had to open several to check and test. Have never eaten this type MREs so didn't know what to expect. Still haven't tried the heater bag. Everything you expect is there, food, spoon, instant coffee (terrible in my opinion), sugar, powered cream, toilet paper, gum, something to flavor water, etc. Not what you might want for a steady diet but if you're hungry you can quickly get food into you, no water required except for the drinks. The food's not bad at all. Certainly more charming than a can of pork and beans and crackers. You won't find anything in the way of a veggie, but this is survival food. Actually thought this wouldn't be bad as a "meals on wheels" sometime substitute except for the lacking veggie part. Your older relative might get a kick out of something like this. Kind of like Christmas to see what's inside. We ordered two boxes did the testing on one then ordered two more boxes. The plan is to use them for emergency food as we live in severe earthquake country and must plan to be without power and water in excess of 30 days. Having decent food that doesn't need power or water to cook along with the other supplies in each bag makes a nice all in one kit if things go south.Western Frontier used Amazon to send this Prime so it came quickly. The inspection date was 2018. Am guessing stored in our back room they will be good for the estimated years. Also expect we will use these up before with on the spur of the moment sightseeing adventures (throw a couple MRE bags in the car and go) or there's nothing in the house to eat and the spouse that's the great cook is out for the evening. Therefore am not concerned these do not have 20-30 year shelf life. Price per bag was cheaper than the burger I had in town last night and that didn't come with gum or toilet paper.

see what "army life" was like. Definitely some differences from the meals 14 years ...
I actually ordered both Case A and Case B. Letting my kids try them, see what "army life" was like. Definitely some differences from the meals 14 years ago in Iraq. Of course nothing compares to the old ham slices they had when my dad in in the military. I remember the old MRE's he would bring home from the field in the 80's.The company was great. Western Frontier. Shipped them super fast. I plan on getting some more and will definitely be using them again. Wasn't so sure about some of these other websites or vendors. But I trust this company. Seem genuine.
