Gardeners Choice BB2 2-Feet Bamboo Stakes

I wanted to get the green sticks instead of the plain bamboo ones because they blend in better with my plants but had no idea they would be covered in this awful green dust/paint. Ugh. Overall they are the perfect height for my houseplants that are swinging all over the place so I would still recommend them. I would suggest you wear gloves the first time you get them, wash them with soap and hot/warm water to get most of the green dust/paint residue off before putting them in the flower pot. The green paint didn't stain my hands (it washed off with regular hand soap and warm water) and washing them off helped a lot but was still annoying to deal with it.

After reading the reviews I still decided to order them, they were not expensive and were nice and long. How ever, they are painted green and it does crack and chips off. So I recommend you clean them really good and get all the paint off, do it in a place that wont be stained my the green paint. They seem to be ok as far as stability goes, and they do seem to be a bit difference in thickness but not by alot. It also depends on what you are using them for.

These are typical lightweight bamboo stakes, which work well enough for supporting smaller, lightweight flowers. They worked for lisianthus (pictured), but were not sturdy enough to hold up zinnia blooms (even when the zinnia were just the height of the stakes).Although I had read the reviews, and was prepared to have some green on my hands, I was shocked at just how green my hands were! It took several hand washings to remove the green. I subsequently bought stakes made by Bond here on Amazon, and although those stakes are green, they do not transfer any of the green into your hands, so I would recommend those instead.

These 2 foot long stakes are typical quality small to medium width bamboo. I use these to keep my lightweight pepper plants upright through the season. Though a few snapped, most can be re-used the following year. I would consider the quality satisfactory.However, like others have mentioned, be forewarned. These are painted green, and the green WILL stain your hand - and be hard to wash off. But I'm a man - I can handle it (no big deal).Overall I thought the price was good and the quality solid but not spectacular.

These are a great deal for the price. As others have noted, the green paint washes off pretty easily and will also get on your hands if you are handling these without gloves. Being bamboo, the stakes are not very tough so they break easily if you are trying to put them into hard earth. But, they slide into garden soil very easily. If you don't mind the paint issue, these are a great deal for the price.

After my neighbor ended up mowing down the glads I had planted (like he "didnt see them" even thought they were a foot high) I had to replant them and put a stake in front of the new bulbs. I was going to use these for tying them up anyway but had not yet put the stakes up. How ever now they are up. They are tapered at one end so they are easy to put in the dirt. I also used them to support the new bushes I put in. I have now used them all up and am ordering more!!! I like that they are green. I dont know about the green dye coming off on hands due to the fact I use vinyl gloves.Really like these!!!!

This is not a complaint. I am satisfied with my purchase. But, you have to take into consideration where you use these and not to handle them too much. They are dark green and they stain. The color doesn't run all over the place but they will stain your fingers and other things they come in contact with if handled too long and it is hard to get off. There is a Natural color Bamboo that is also an option that doesn't stain.

When I saw these had a low-ish rating, I thought to myself, “it’s a stick. Who would give a stick a low rating?”But here I am.An orchid plant I have started growing a new spike — it’s the first time I’ve had this happen. As I watch it quickly grow up each day, I realized most orchids are clipped to stakes, and likely for good reason. So I came on here and ordered these.First of all, they are very, very thick. Much thicker than they should be for orchids. They are thicker than the stakes I use to trellis some of my hardier outdoor vines. I found the thinnest one in the pack and used it. After putting it in, I looked down at my hands and they were completely green. There was so much green dye running off them in the sink. Gross! I feel weird putting them into my orchid plant! Now I’m stuck with like 25 of these gross things.It’s just a stick. How hard can it be to make it functional?!

Works as expected. The color is a little faded but it's sitting next to plants so it doesn't really matter.
