Three More Stories You Can Read to Your Cat

My dog and I visit with children as a pet therapy team. I bring dog-themed books with me so that kids can read to my dog (she is a very non-judging audience). I have several picture books and books for early readers, but I also wanted books for slightly more advanced readers too. This book as well as Three Stories You Can Read to Your Dog were an excellent choice!The book arrived on a day I was scheduled to visit a domestic violence shelter. I grabbed it and took it with me without reading it first. I was in for a treat at our therapy session. We met with a reluctant reader. She really wanted to do the bare minimum to get to the point in the session when she would be rewarded with trick time with my dog, but the book is written as a conversation between the young reader and the dog; each story ends with a hook for the next chapter. For example, the end of the first story ends with "Hey, good dog. Do you want another story? Here is another one just for you." She read it before she knew was coming and before I knew it, she was reading the next story, and then the next. The girl who didn't want to read at all read the entire book!

After finding Three Stories You Can Read to Your Cat at our local library and realizing that it was going to be hard to remove it from the house to return it, I went out and found all 4 books (3 Stories You Can Read to Your Cat, 3 More Stories You can Read to Your Cat, 3 Stories You Can Read to Your Dog, and 3 More Stories You Can Read to Your Dog.)My kids are 3.5 and love these stories.. They very quickly memorized their favorites and apply the situations in the stories to our cats and dogs freely ( I think Auggie wants to be a Wild Dog today!). Written in a great voice that grabs your kid's attention and which is easily understood to be speaking not to them but to your cat or dog. The kids love the idea. The stories are genuinely funny.

A friend bought the Three Stories You Can Read to Your Cat for me and my kitty and we liked it so well that I ordered Three More Stories. My kitty isn't one who likes me to read to her, so I do it in a calm and low voice and she listens. She also seems to like the photos if you and your kitty have cuddle time, these stories are really fun. There are only 3 stories in the book, but they can be read over and over. The illustrations are colorful and well done. If more in this series come out, I will surely buy them - as much for my entertainment as for my kitty's.

This is a delightful story, a favorite of mine. It works well for children who have difficulty reading. The stories are short and humorous. if they can read to a dog or a stuffed animal, it is amazing how well they can read. I was happy to find the book on Amazon because it is not readily available through retail outlets.

These stories are hilarious! My six year old loves reading this book again and again and laughs out loud throughout the book every single time. The stories are definitely told from what you could imagine is a dog's point of view and it is very funny. I enjoy when we read this book and find it humorous too. I also recommend the first book in this series, "Three Stories You Can Read To Your Dog." We've had that one for a good three years and I can't even count how many times we have read it!!

I liked the first Three Stories best, but this was fun to read with cats and kiddets too. The humor in Miller's stories for/of pets is subtle and creative. I have children and great grandchildren who enjoy Miller's cat and dog stories.

This book and its predecessor, Three Stories You Can Read to Your Cat, are wonderful short books that are written as if you are reading the story to your cat. It is very cute and cleverly written, and my 10 year-old "reluctant reader" loved both of them.

I have bought this for my cat for Christmas, as he likes to listen to cat stories I buy for me to read if I read them out loud to him. You could also read this to a visiting child as the pictures are very colorful.
