Why Invicta, Why???
Why, why Invicta, do you keep making such incredible watches??? Don't you know I have far too many already???Well, Invicta has done it again, and, even though this model has been out for a while, I only recently came across it, not even here on Amazon, but searching for a yellow colored dial watch -- yes, Invicta has that too, and yes, I wound up getting it -- where I stumbled across a night photo of this model, in full lume, and it was just the coolest looking thing I ever saw!I didn't even know anyone made full lume watches, so, live and learn some more, but I just thought this was the most unique look, where, instead of just the hands and indices glowing in the dark -- the ENTIRE dial glows! Yup, awesome! The hands and the second hand indicator also glow, a very nice orange, and, for the other markers (like reverse indiglo car gauges), instead of lighted indicators on a dark background, the overall effect is dark indicators highlighted by a lighted background. I've attached a pic, not the greatest in low light obviously, but it shows the lume in action. The dial lume itself is a gorgeous blue, looks phenomenal! In daylight, it's a white dial, with orange hands and indices, and of course the steady sweeping second hand. This series from Invicta, of the Pro Divers, (although the watch itself says "Grand Diver") with automatic movement, is just an insanely wonderful deal, and pieces like this are the reason that, despite having "high end" watches in my collection, and understanding all of what makes a watch worth buying for the materials, movement and craftsmanship, I still wind up also picking up watches from Invicta now and then because of the style and affordability for the given feature set.Invicta is what started me on a collection of watches, and, many long years later, they still kindle the real passion for watches that I've had since I was a boy. Not that other brands don't, but, for all the negative sentiments set toward Invicta by people touting the superiority of other makes, Invicta really leads the market for what they create at the prices they charge. In terms of an automatic Pro Diver (It seems a bit confusing, Pro versus Grand, since this series is found in either search, and is called one or the other sometimes, or even listed with both names, as a Pro Diver Grand Diver), I've wanted one ever since getting one for my nephew's graduation gift, and, when I saw this one, and then saw the price, which is now affordable beyond belief, it's almost like it's nuts to pass it up.No, it's not a sapphire crystal, nor is it a Swiss made piece, but it has a very solid Japanese movement -- the NH35A, a Seiko movement, actually -- which is very accurate and dependable, with just over 40 hours of power reserve, it is water resistant to 100m, it is solidly built from stainless steel, has a unidirectional bezel and looks GREAT!!!So, what's not to love???It just continues to amaze me that Invicta gives such great watches to the world at such great prices. Stack this up against any watch that is three, five, ten or even fifty times more expensive, and what on earth are we paying for, besides brand? Yes, sapphire, I know, and a Swiss movement, but, come on, as a first watch, or as a gift to someone, or just to have in your collection, this is just SO WORTH buying, and continues to prove why people love this brand so much. It hasn't stopped me from branching out to other brands also worth buying, but nothing out there stops me from returning to Invicta when I see something like this, that just no one else is producing.Feels so comfortable on the wrist, is very accurate (I've had it for a few months now) and is one of my favorites in my rotation. I'm not normally a big fan of white faced dials (I think I only have two others I have ever bought with a white face) but for some reason it really, really works on this model. I think it's the offset of the orange, outlined in the same color as the bezel, and then set against the stainless -- looks just so, so good. They even gave us an exhibition case back, to display the movement. And, all of this for less than a few hundred bucks. Amazing! So, I hope you'll pardon my enthusiasm, but I just can't help being really happy with this purchase. Obviously, it's a buy that I would highly recommend. Well done, Invicta!* Well built watch, great movement inside, display case back, date window, comfortable for daily wear, looks GREAT* Highly water resistant, accurate, unidirectional bezel for timing, 40 hours power reserve* Outstanding value for the price -- rather unbeatable value, in fact.* Would definitely recommend to a friend* Would definitely buy againWhile a winder is optional, to keep it running when not on the wrist, if you do opt for one, and are looking for a winder that doesn't take up a lot of space like the more expensive luxury ones, and if you don't mind that it has a cheaper look to it as a winder, the Boxy (from Diplomat) is a winder I've been happy with, as a functional tool that gets the job done. I've reviewed both the single, and dual (stacking) versions. It's the winder you see in the one photo.Settings for this movement are to set your winder at both directions (CW and CCW) for 900 TPD. The Boxy handles this task flawlessly, and I have the stacking unit, with my other Grand Diver (the yellow faced on I mentioned at the outset) on top, with the lower Boxy also powering the upper one, with their unique single power source design. Thanks for reading -- hope this has helped!

The Lume glows ALL night long literally.
Pro's:- Very unique face that almost has a pearlescent quality when it catches sunlight due to the luminescent material they used to make the face.- Indestructable Case and bracelet. VERY heavy and think with solid end links.- Glass has been through hell in the last 90 days as a daily wear piece at the office, in the shop, at the beach, in the ocean, etc. No scratches and bezel still turns with smooth clicks (not the case on every grand diver, its hit and miss.)- Loom glows ALL night long and I mean the entire face of the watch is luminescent which works great as a backdrop against the non luminous indicies. Great contrast and incredible span of glow time. I went camping last week and had to turn this thing face down as everytime I woke up in the tent it was too distracting.- Screw down crown.- Display case back.- Power reserve is great- seiko movement is very accurateCon's:- sits very high on the wrist. Partially due to how the end links attach to the lugs, but the display case back adds 5mm alone easy. A Nato band helps a lot.- says Invicta in way too many places (all invicta watches suffer from this) can be moded by filing in some cases, but best to YouTube first and maybe seek out a pro.- lacks the fit/finish of a Seiko, i.e. remove the bracelet on some (not all) and you may find some imperfections in the steel around the edge of the case. Little rough spots. I own 3 of these and 1 out of 3 has this, but it doesn't bother me.- it's an invicta so despite the Value on offer here the watch snobs will never acknowledge the quality and durability on offer here for the price.Truly unique looking piece with an incredible value to feature ratio. Manufacturing QC inconsistencies tend to get mentioned in a lot of reviews I've read, but I own 3 of these models and have had zero issues with performance. They wear big and you may wear them hard and they'll take it all day. I consider these Auto Divers like the Honda of homage automatic dive watches. After all it is Seiko movement at the end of the day ; )Buy with confidence.

Exceeded expectations!
Invicta gets a bad rap, but I'd defy any watch person to say this was not very high quality and, and I love the look. We'll worth the money. If you like it, the quality will not disappoint.

Flat out great watch
Invicta is always well made, but the Grand Diver is their best, simplest, and most handsome product line imho. Heavy, solid and easy to read, the hefty case holds a 24 jewel Seiko auto movement which is quite accurate - a few mins a month. Not quartz accuracy, but never needs batteries. This particular model is striking and gets compliments constantly. And, the entire face glows blue at night, backlighting the hands which glow orange. Very easy to read in the dark.It is big - about the same as the Pro-Diver quartz chronographs. But, when you run out of bullets, you can hit the bad guys with this watch and it'll do the job. Lol.Your jeweler can remove links and size the watch properly, then you never have to take it off. At 300m wr, this watch can go way deeper than you can and is obviously fine for showers, swimming, and water sports.Just a great looking watch that should outlive me.

Nice watch
The watch is great and looks really nice. My only complaint was the packaging. It didn’t come in the nice original box like others I have received. The packaging seemed cheap.

Nice but large and heavy Invicta Watch
The main reason I purchased this watch was because of the full dial illumination. In the dark it is a nice blue background with contrasting markers. However, it if very short lasting and poor illumination compared to a Seiko or Orient . The NH35 movement keep great time, but he face only shows the date and not the day. A slippery bezel make it hard to position easily.
