🔐 Lock it down, live worry-free!
The CHR Key Patio DR Lock is a versatile and secure locking solution designed for both interior and exterior use. Featuring a chrome finish, it locks in both closed and vented positions, and its non-removable screws and rotating bolt mechanism provide enhanced protection against tampering.

Better than the Defender/Gatehouse lock
After replacing the Defender Security U 9997 3 times, I finally gave up and bought this CHR sliding patio lock to replace it, and found that it works much better. The Defender kept on getting stuck and the mechanism eventually got bent when I applied more pressure to unstuck it. The CHR simply works. The CHR comes under many brand names and they're all the same. My package says Hickory Hardware, and I see similar ones named Belwith Products and First Watch Security.

Just the ticket
I work at Lowe's and we use to carry this lock. I had one on my upstairs slider because we used it frequently and the poll lock or having the dowel in the bottom wasn't the best because our house is a daycare. I purchased this one because we finnished the basement and needed to have one downstairs. The unit is easy to install 3 screws and a hole to drill. We also drilled another hole so that we could lock it in an slightly open position. We leave the key in the lock and just turn it to lock and unlock. Great extra sense of safety on a vinyl slider that expands and contracts with the cold and heat causing the lock not to ingage.

Nooopeeee
Nope. I can’t understand it. I took the back off like it again and a spring and weird metal ball popped out. Little instructions mostly pictures. Had to YouTube how to do it, and still couldn’t!

Must have for little ones
Perfect for toddler-proofing the sliding door. It was fairly easy to install. I can use the key and slide lock with one hand, which I love since my hands are full with 2 kids most of the time.

Definately would not work on bottom of door. Would probably have been workable on top of door.
Mounted it on bottom of door. It wouldn't hold itself in up position and would fall into locked position when door was closed. Had to scrap it.
