ADSL VDSL Splitter Filter in 85mm format

Output IDC socket not soldered in place. Overall manufacture very flimsy.Could not use

On installation the terminal block broke off the circuit board (I do know what I'm doing and using the right tool) and it appears that the terminal block was poorly soldered onto the board. I had to resolder it to fix it.Otherwise it does what it's supposed to do.

I bought two of these. One seems to work OK the other doesn't. I spent almost 2 hours messing around in a clients house trying to get the phone and broadband working from one of these. Sometimes it was fine then it wasn't. In the end testing the voltages I was getting showed the voltage on the phone socket was varying up and down then off and on. Further investigation revealed that the incoming connector block was loose. When I took it apart I found it had dry joints on it, as it was now 17:00 on a Saturday. I tried to solder the dry joints, which should have been easy, but in the end I couldn't get them to solder at all, rubbish connectors. I had to put everything back to normal and ordered an Openreach NTE5C Mk4. Everything is now OK. I prefer the layout and size of this to the Openreach one, but I wouldn't use them again. I have had to tell my other customer to keep an eye on his phone and internet and if he has similar problems I will go and change it for an Openreach one free of charge.
