If you do not have a bed frame for this to hang over you will need to get your own hardware to hang it. They provide 8 hang points, and two ties to hold the flap open if desired. The twin size only opens on one side. The mesh they use feels like a basic costuming tulle, but has larger openings than I would expect for bug netting, so for open air use, depending on where you are located, this will help keep out Mosquitos, but will be less effective against No-see-ums and Black Flies. So it is probably most effective as a decorative piece, but with that in mind I would have expected the construction to be a little more finished. The stitching was pretty even, which I know from the experience of making my own years ago can be difficult when working with this type of flowy and stretchy fabric, although mine used a much tighter mesh. The ties for mounting are haphazardly cut at different lengths, and it will take a little steaming if you want to get the wrinkles out. For the original list price, I would expect a higher quality, but for the current price it at least seems like an acceptable value.

This netting has a really toxic chemical smell to it upon opening the bag- we had to hang it outside for 3 days to air it out and even then it still smells of the solvent used in manufacture.DO NOT USE INDOORS.
