At last! A blanket with the control lump at the feet!
Almost an ideal mattress protector, but very expensive. But it’s the only one I could find which has the lump where the controls connect at the foot corner and not in exactly the place where you put your arm so my husband said to buy it! Finally a manufacturer has seen sense! So first the blanket, then I’ll explain the (mostly unfairly) maligned Wi-fi control.I bought the king size and it covers the entire mattress surface with a generously deep good quality skirt fabric which goes all the way under my very deep 40cm mattress. The controls plug in at each foot corner (yay!) and there is then a long cable between these and the hand controls so they are near the head of the bed, and a shorter cable from each controller to it’s wall plug. The king size has a separate controller and plug for each side, each side has separate body and feet controls (yay!).The product description says exceptionally thin wires. Well I can feel the tiniest crumb on my sheet so am rather sensitive to the wires in electric blankets. I’d say these wires are about the same as most top end blankets, and personally I’d like a bit more padding please (manufacturer please note), but they are okay - so far.So overall the blanket fits the bed really well with no annoying block at the head to drive my husband crazy and has separate body and feet controls for each side, but maybe more padding over the wires may be needed over time (9/10).You can control the blanket either by the hand controls or by your phone using the App and Wi-fi. Bluetooth is used to set it up.I downloaded the app and installed it on my iPhone without a problem. The Wi-fi controls work well and if you have it set to Wi-fi controls then you can operate the blanket by Wi-fi or the manual controls (10/10).The first thing you need to know is that the controllers have a 3 position slider on the side: on/Wi-fi/manual. You need to put this to Wi-fi in order to connect to your Wi-fi (duh!), the app doesn’t tell you but the instruction booklet (initially unread by me but easy to consult) does. The Wi-fi controls work as if you have two separate blankets. So you pair your phone with one controller, name it and away you go - just follow the instructions from the app (but have the control slide slider set to Wi-fi).You can then set a daily multiple on/off schedule from your phone, or just turn it in and off from your phone, or use the controller like a manual control. Simple:)But there is an issue. It only lets one phone connect to each controller. I initially set it up so I had both controls on my phone (it treats each side like a separate blanket), but found it didn’t remember settings for the second side when I swapped back to the first side, although it always retained the first side. When my husband installed the app and connected up his side to his phone, his side then vanished from my phone.Maybe the engineers thought that only one person should be able to control a blanket and that person doesn’t need to use two blankets at the same time? I can get the logic but regardless it means I can’t switch on both sides from downstairs from my phone; my husband has to fend for himself:)Having said that it has rapid heat-up when turned on.I really didn’t see the need for the Wi-fi controls prior to purchase (was quite scathing about it really) so it was interesting that during the first night of use I found it easier to leave the app open on my phone and use that to control the blanket than to reach down and pick up the controller :)What else to say?I found the manual controls very intuitive and easy to use (which I was concerned about having read other reviews). It has an anti allergy/anti dust mites feature - basically you put it on max for 12 hours and fry the yuckie beasties. It has a 3 year manufacturer warranty, but take note, the manufacturer is honest and says too much washing of the blanket will cause it to deteriorate and says only to wash it 5 times. I never keep an electric blanket more than 3 years for safety reasons so this should be okay. (But maybe the manufacturer might like to make a compatible separate padded cover?)Last thing to note from the instruction booklet, if the product overheats (ie due to a fault), it will turn off needing the manufacturer to reset it so I won’t be risking putting any extra padding on mine myself!Overall, almost a perfect electric under blanket; too expensive, but I am quickly growing to love the (previously thought to be unnecessary) Wi-fi control!Just call me little mrs toasty toes :)

A very luxurious blanket.
I didn't set out to spend serious money on a "smart" electric blanket, but our previous Monogram had given up the ghost after five years and I really wanted a like-for-like replacement. Unfortunately, at the time of year that we needed it, all of the retailers had sold out of the straightforward version for our size of bed and I opted for the smart one.Having used this model for a month or two, I must say that we love it. It's great to find the bed already warm without having to remember to make a journey upstairs beforehand, and it can be programmed for different heat settings through the night. Our heating tends to come on in the small hours of the morning and it can get too warm in bed. We can set up the blanket to go off again without having to break our sleep. The app and blanket are simple to use. One phone can control both sides of the double blanket, but we have our own sides set up on each of our phones to avoid confusion. The blanket itself is of high quality and doubles as a mattress cover. The wiring leads from the bottom of the bed to the controllers and I would advise running the wires under the bed as far as possible to avoid a tripping hazard.

Remote feature is not stable: updated on replacement
I liked this electric blanket because the lump/power connection is not up at the top like so many others! It covers the entire mattress and I have a deep mattress so that's a positive. It takes a little while to heat up but not too bad. The separate foot and body warmth, plus separate sides is great. The issue is with the remote feature. The App has always been a bit buggy, it has improved with an update. The big issue I now have is that one of the controllers is constantly flashing 'remote' and cannot be controlled by the app. One side is fine. I've reset the controller, deleted and reinstalled the app, all I can think of but nothing has worked. So I now have a manually controlled electric blanket for which I paid a remote controlled price! Great idea but the product doesn't fully do what it is supposed to anymore. I have it over a year now so I don't think there is anything I can do. Expensive mistake.**update to my review. Beurer contacted me with a proposed fix to the remote fail issue but it hasn't helped. I still have one controller that works with the App/Wifi function and one that flashes 'remote'. No response to my request for another solution as yet.**further update. I contacted Amazon about the issue and they sent me a replacement blanket immediately. Incredible customer service. However, the replacement blanket is faulty, the foot zone on one side does not heat up and the controller is glitchy. When changing the heat levels it keeps resetting itself to zero. Will need to contact Amazon to return this one also

The app control is the selling point here..
Bought this particular blanket purely for the benefit of being able to control it with the app, I'm a day & night shift worker and don't stick to a set bedtime so waiting for electric blankets to heat up before was frustrating, now I set the timer on the app or turn it on as I'm leaving work and my bed is toasty when I get home. Don't pay the extra for this compared to normal ones unless you're going to use your app. I've used it the highest temp setting and its not burning hot but its enough to heat my cold dead heart :)
