This is the first filament welder I have purchased that actually works
Works to weld PLA, ABS, PETG and polycarbonate.

Works very well, you may look for consumables
The filament welder works as it is intended to, with PLA. I am still not sure how to make it work with other filaments. The welder itself is very solid and I believe good engineering is put in it. The process of welding is pretty easy too. Just snip the filament, put it in the PTFE sleeve, and cure it for a few minutes. Once cured let it cool and snip out the sleeve.I assume this is the first version and the creators will iterate and improve. Following are the improvement areas.- The power switch is a two-way switch and there is no description of if it does different temperatures when pressed in | or || side. In my test, it has the same temperature on both sides.- The instructions guide is very tiny and has several mistakes. (gilament?)- Different filaments require different temp to properly melt and weld. A single setting would not work for all types of filaments.- There could be a visual temperature indicator, which could say if the target temp is reached, an LCD would be nice but an LED could also work.

Great design, needs revisioning, *not good for PET*
As I only needed this item for pultruded PET filament, it could not reach the temperature I needed. I would have settled for 250°C, but it wasn't happening. I also can't say I'm impressed by the build quality considering the clamp was not evenly clamping. Otherwise built like a brick- it's a very neat design and obviously thought has been put into it, but in my opinion, there will be incoming improvements that are necessary. Also, moving away from PTFE tubes should be a priority of all builders of this type of melding rigs and all others. Better solutions must exist or be brought into existence. I look forward to trying out version 2.0 of the Hexagon.

easy to use & does a good job at connecting filament.
I just used this for the first time & it was very easy to use. I trimmed the ends to the same angle & put them in the sheath, put the the filament in the machine & turned it on. I noted the time, then promptly forgot about it. about 6 minutes later, it turned itself off. I then turned on the fan for a few minutes to cool it down, & took it out.The weld seems solid enough to get pulled into the extruder (we'll see when I use it).

Worth the money, but could use some work still.
Here's a review for the **Hexagon Filament Welder 1.75mm**:---**Product Review: Hexagon Filament Welder 1.75mm****Price:** $59.98### **Product Details:**- **Brand:** Hexagon- **Material:** Metal- **Color:** Black- **Item Weight:** 300 Grams- **Unit Count:** 1.0 Count### **Product Features:**- **Easy to Use and Comprehensive Support:** This filament splicer is user-friendly, with clear instructions, a demo video on YouTube, and a detailed user manual. It's suitable for both beginners and experienced users.- **Ultra-Fast Integrated Cooling System:** Features a cooling system that is six times faster than competing products, ensuring quick and safe operation without overheating.- **Efficient Performance with Various Filaments:** Compatible with multiple filament types, including TPU, PLA, ABS, PC, and PETG, offering strong and reliable bonds for all your 3D printing projects.- **Durable All-Steel Construction with Safety Features:** The filament splicer is built with robust all-steel construction and includes an automatic shut-off feature to enhance safety and longevity.- **1-Year Warranty and Excellent Customer Support:** Comes with a 1-year warranty and customer support available via email 7 days a week from a French company.### **Pros:**- Works well with a variety of filament types.- Quick and efficient cooling system.- Durable, all-steel construction.- Easy to use with comprehensive support.- 1-year warranty and responsive customer service.### **Cons:**- The included PFTE tube trimming block is 3D printed, which can have quality issues. Mine had some strings and was not very smooth, making it hard to get a clean cut.- The trimming block was made from PLA, which deformed slightly when I used a torch to remove the strings, requiring additional reheating to open up.### **My Take:**Overall, the Hexagon Filament Welder is a solid tool for anyone involved in FDM 3D printing. Despite the issues with the 3D-printed PFTE tube trimming block, the welder itself performs admirably. I found that making a flat 90-degree cut on the filament ends worked much better than the 45-degree cut recommended in the instructions, as it resulted in a stronger and more reliable joint. The cooling system is highly effective, and once the joint cools down, it’s solid and ready to use. The tool's all-steel construction adds to its durability, and the automatic shut-off feature is a nice touch for safety. If the trimming block had been more reliable, or if there was an option to print your own via provided STL files, this would have been a 5-star product. As it stands, I give it 4 stars due to the minor quality issues with the trimming block, but it’s still a great tool at a reasonable price point.---This review provides a balanced perspective on the product, highlighting both its strengths and areas for improvement.
