Great beginners magic set
This is a great set for getting someone started with magic. It shows the concept of illusion well and how you utilise the trick to create the illusion. The tricks are fairly simple to master and enables the user to get involved quickly to hold there interest. My son who is 11 loves it. He has been trying out all the tricks on family some more successfully than others although if you get the correct target audience - grandma then it seems easier. The set offers a good range of tricks and after a month he has mastered most of them. I like this set as a good starter set to generate interest in magic.

Definitely entertains the kids
I have a 5 year old son, and I have often shown him some of my simplistic magic tricks, which usually involves hiding something and retrieving it from behind his ear... and this has always amazed and (occasionally) frustrated him.Having a whole set of 150 tricks was going to annoy him for the rest of the year and provide me with so much more ammunition!! However, I decided to let him in on the tricks for him to amaze his 2 year old brother. The set is actually very good... there's a couple of tricks in here that I had no idea how they were pulled off, and some of them are very effective (if you don't know the secrets behind them). The only downside is that the majority of the 150 tricks are actually card tricks... but there are a good number of practical tricks to have a lot of fun with.My 5 year old plays with it regularly, and any time there's someone coming over he'll spend an evening learning one of the tricks to amaze them with, which is always cute to see.Very highly recommended

Well Presented Beginners Magic Set
This is a magic set, supposedly with 150 magic tricks. There are some well known beginner tricks here, most of which I am familiar with.A fair amount of those tricks will be minor variations of each other. Some I will be finding out how to do for the first time !!The set is for one of my children, although I have a feeling it may be more suitable for next year, rather than this.It does require a level of maturity, patience, and dexterity which my child (at the lower end of the suggested age range) perhaps still lacks.Presentation of the set is good, although everything is clearly plastic or paper. It doesn't look quite as premium as some other sets I have seen.It is good however, at the appropriate price level, and very suitable for a beginner.

Great for the kids!
This is a great magic set for kids, with one of my nephews taking to it immediately. It has a wide variety of tricks, some unique, some variations of others you can perform with the included items. Some are better than others but there's some great stuff in here that the kids have loved getting their teeth into. This would make a great birthday or Christmas gift.Recommended.

Nice set, plastic but good value
The Henbrandt Children's Magic Set is currently £19.99 and represents good value for money. The trick things are plastic but mostly decent quality and there's lots in the box to try. There are two booklets and some of the tricks are extensions of each other, but this gives you ways of using the same skill on different people by varying it slightly. My son is 9yo and he's enjoyed trying it out but it does take some time to read the instructions, interpret them and then practise the skill. He's probably right at the bottom age of suitability as I think it needs the dedication of a slightly older child to really persevere and get good. However, one or two tricks have taken his fancy and he's enjoying having a go.I think this set is really great value for money and is well presented in the box. Lots of tricks to try and would make a lovely gift. Honestly, I'm keen to try a few out myself for the odd party trick!Definitely great for an older child and adults too.

Some great magic tricks, although some may be a bit challenging for younger users
I had a read through both manuals provided with the Henbrandt Single Children’s Magic Set, and quite enjoyed the simplicity, yet effectiveness, of many of them. Answered now are some of those burning questions of 'how did they do that' from my childhood! The manuals are clearly laid out and well explained, with illustrations to aid understanding. I was tickled by how some quite sophisticated (for a child) tricks were perfomed so easily.Certainly this will provide hours of fun for a budding magician, in both learning and performing tricks as they go from simple to quite sophisticated.I think the age recommendation in the description is accurate - this set is destined for an 11 year old girl, who has shown interest in magic tricks recently.

Great magic set with clear instruction leaflet
When giving gifts to children, I always like to try to choose more traditional things as nowadays children spend far too much time in front of computers, which is not healthy in my view. This magic set really fits the bill as it goes back to a traditional art which children will love and which will teach them skills which they can try out on friends and family. This set is really a great introduction to magic. It contains so many items and tricks, and there are 2 instruction booklets, which are really clear, which is what you need! Many of the well known tricks are in this set - cups and balls, linking rings, loads of card tricks, mind reading cards, flash dice, rope tricks, and the essential magic wand to make it all happen.Yes, this is all made out of plastic, which is a shame, but I have no doubt that children will be intrigued by this set and it will keep them entertained for a very long time. After all, there are over 150 tricks to master before you can turn yourself into Paul Daniels!!It is marketed for ages 6 to 11. A 6 year old will be able to master many of the tricks, with help from adults, but personally I think ages 8 to 11 would be the best age group. Having said that, I found myself intrigued by the tricks, so it would even be good for adults who are interested in magic!I think due to the actual content of this kit, it is worth the current price of £19.99.
