Terrible
Terrible flimsy bendy. Would use it once and it would turn into a horse shoe.

Very lightweight
I wanted this item for self defence primarily, but when I received it I was struck by the absence of any weight. It did not fill me with confidence, in fact it made me laugh at the thought that this would be useful as a form of defence. I do not recommend that anyone buy this for self defense reasons at all. I am sure it must have some use, although in my case it is not fit for the purpose I had in mind.

Pointer/ defense stick
Seems well made, a good weight. The only negative is that it doesn't automatically extend when whipped out.

A clear definition is needed as to their actual purpose
This is a weird product, as the description gives two very different reasons for buying them.Self Defence Baton - I'm not sure they would be very effective for this. The steel ball at the end is definitely hard, and I would imagine it could deliver quite a blow to someone if swung with enough force. If the handle wasn't fully extended, it might even be used twice - but it feels to me that if it were fully extended and hit with force, the length would just bend (and this would also reduce the impact force of the ball at the other end). So, if you're thinking of going vigilante and cleaning up the streets of Croydon, I would look elsewhere for your accessories. However, the other stated use Telescopic Hollowing Drum detection device - it would definitely operate well for this. You can tap tap tap something to find a hollow point, without worrying about bending the shaft.I find it strange that it has these two very contrasting uses listed, when one simply would not be suitable (I would also question whether such an item could legally be carried on the streets if it were effective).

Hard balls, spongy handles
These extendable rods come plainly packaged. Lanyard straps are included but not attached, I had no trouble threading these through the hole in the little balls at the end of the handles. It's a slightly unusual design resulting in the handles not having flat ends. The handles are spongy with indented grips so are comfortable in hand. The extension mechanism works cleanly, I can extend and retract the rods without any stiffness. As self defence sticks they don't feel rigid enough to me, the balls at the end are hard for sure so can deliver a good rap on the knuckles or bump on the head but the rods are relatively thin and don't lock in the extended position, should an assailant grab one you can't even use it to keep them away from you. I would probably be better off with an umbrella.Performance as inspection rods is great, the steel balls at the end are ideal for tapping against my walls so I can find the hollow parts. That's why I have rated them with four stars. If my main purpose for these was to use them as batons I would have rated them lower, but they are very well suited to wall inspection so overall I am very happy with these telescopic sticks.
