CasioWith the launch of its first watch in November 1974, Casio entered the wristwatch market at a time when the watch industry had just discovered digital technology. As a company with cutting-edge electronic technology developed for pocket calculators, Casio entered this field confident that it could develop timepieces that would lead the market.Today, Casio is focusing its efforts on solar-powered radio-controlled watches: the built-in solar battery eliminates the nuisance of replacing batteries, atomic timekeeping means the users never have to reset the time. Recently, Casio launched a series of Bluetooth watches that sync to the users cell phone to automatically update the time. Casio is always moving time forward. These timepieces, inspired by the classic rounded design of the DW-6900 from G-Shock have button guards that prevent accidental operation and an oversized front light button. A large case, available in a host of colors with gloss finishes, coupled with 50m water resistance and a 7-year battery make for stylish and reliable timepiece suitable for many occasions. Gloss black resin band digital watch with black face.

Pefect when you need a countdown watch
This is my 4th Illuminator watch from Casio, and I'm sorry these are no longer being manufactured! The pluses: easy to read time, date, day of the week. The "light" button allows one to see the time in the dark. And, most importantly, the countdown timer doesn't require high level technical skills. One simply hits the "reset" button for the number of minutes you need to countdown--at 1, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20,30 minute intervals seen in a small circle on the watch face. If you need to keep track of time (parking meter, when to take medication, etc.), this is the perfect watch. The only negative is that the substantial looking watchband doesn't hold up. As another reviewer highlighted: the watch had a 10 year battery but the watchband only lasted 2 years.

I think it's not so great, but it's a kids watch and the kid likes it
This was purchased for an 8 year old, and our views are a little different.Based on his response and use, this would be a five star watch. He wears the watch all the time and is consistently referencing the time. He likes to use it as an alarm clock so he can get up for school and the stopwatch to see how long it takes to do various things. While he has only had it for a few weeks, he has been more than satisfied - that the date appears on the watch makes him even happier.Based on what I've seen, I'd give the watch something closer to three stars. The light is your old standard yellow that will fade soon enough instead of the indiglo-style blue light that has been around long enough to not be an expensive option. The three dials are somewhat meaningless, with the third used for a timer that you've got to read the manual to understand (that should say, the not-kid-friendly manual). The watch enters set up mode by selecting quickly through clock -> alarm -> stopwatch -> clock set. Again, this is a not as friendly to kids solution that makes it easier to change the time than needs to be.I've always been pleased with Casio for producing cheap, accurate, no frills watches, but this one feels like one of those "look like an adult watch" frustrations and I think we would have been more satisfied with the more basic Casio.

Kid proof but too large!
My 10-year-old has been wearing this for 6 months. He's beat the heck out of it and the face is scratched up but it's still "ticking" and the band hasn't come off. Correct price, function and durability for outside play when he has to know what time to come home. The only thing is that it could be a bit smaller. It's SLIGHTLY smaller than an adult's watch, but still. What kind of giant kid wears a watch this big? My kid doesn't mind because he feels like he's wearing an adult watch, but I think it looks a bit ridiculous.

My fourth one in a different color!
This is my favorite watch by far. It is beyond affordable, takes a beating, and has all the functions I need it for. They are not too big nor too small. I would say it's a nice causal watch that can be worn for any occasion. Of the four I've owned, one I destroyed by trying to replace the battery and the other the band broke but they were over 8-9 years old. I plan to buy more colors if I can find them. So far, Amazon.com is the only place to get them as they are super old.

Watch is great!
It’s a really great watch! I like everything about it. The only thing is, it’s too big for a female wrist. However, it’s doable.

More comfortable than most G-Shocks!
Likes: - Glossy- soft plastic- easy to use- fairly durable- long band for larger wrists- easy to use buttons- good light- value for money- decent functions for the money- listing current time while in other settings- great size- 7 year battery lifeDislikes?: Weird day of week setting, but, easy once you get the hang of it.- acrylic crystal is moderately easy to scratch, but, that's expected given the price.

Good quality and easy to use for a great price.
Watch was easy to use for my 11 year old son. He almost wears it everyday. Watch is a little big for 11 year old but was able to use the tightest setting so it works in the end and should be able to use it for a few years.

Ultra simple, old school digital classic casio...
Casio Kids' W-214HC-1AVCF Black Resin Digital WatchSuper simple long lasting battery watch. tells the time and has alarm/hourly-hime, stop watch, timer , date. 50m water resistance. Very simple classic digital watch that can take a beating. Amber backlighting is easy to press since it is a large isolated button on face of watch. Got tired of kids "smart watches" that are fragile and keep having to charge the watch!!!! old school is sometimes the BESTmy two complaints with this watch are1. wrist strap is plasticy not rubbery. kind of stiff.2. this is a KIDS sized watch but the strap is really long I need to cut it off a bit because i'm on almsot the last strap hole for my 10 yo. Couldve been more considerate and had a shorter strap!!

Perfect Tween Watch
I have purchased 3 or 4 watches fir my grandson. This watch is the only one he will wear. Very comfortable and had timer to set reminders, which he finds very useful. Great reliable watch

Built cheap.
It's a kid's watch and the "lens" is made of really really cheap plastic. Has been unboxed two days ago and it's almost impossible to read the time on it since its scratched all over. Pretty cheap.
