Another Year of Wonder: Classical Music for Every Day

Gorgeous way of discovering new and loved classical music
Clemency Burton-Hill provided a wonderful exploration into classical music with a year of wonder. I'm a classical fan but sometimes struggle to delve into the depths of composers over the hundreds of years to pick from. In both books I've found a wealth of treats, with a basic understanding of the piece and its context and contribution.I have to admit my day to day diligence isn't always great but having a weekend glut to listen to is always great.Already in early January with this new "Another Year.." book I've found several beautiful pieces that have gone straight onto my listening playlists.Accessible, insightful, and beautifully bite size. I have only one niggle. There is a Spotify playlist available for book 1, but I'd have thought Amazon would do a great added value here to bring a playlist to its' platform for both books. I don't mind hunting a little for some of the pieces on there, but it would be so lively to have a playlist to life super easy!

What a delight!
I really enjoyed the first volume Clemency Burton-Hill wrote. I'm thrilled to have a new book to sing me through the year. Very thoughtful text and lovely selections. I highly recommend!

Brilliant book
A wonderfully written book about classical music. For beginners and those already familiar with the 366 (leap year) musical suggestions and information about the composers. Highly recommend. I found all the pieces on you-tube.

Overbearing volume of religious undertones
I understand Clemmie found her maker during/following her illness. I understand. I also appreciate the massive contribution religious music made and makes to the canon. Unlike her first book, this collection is, for me, too tilted in that direction. That's a shame.
