Excellent magnesium – gentle on the stomach and effective
I bought this magnesium after comparing several brands, and I’m very satisfied. You can really feel the difference: it helps me relax, I sleep better at night, and I’ve noticed less muscle tension. What I like the most is that it doesn’t cause any digestive issues, unlike other types of magnesium I’ve tried. The tablets are easy to swallow, and the quality-to-price ratio is great.A very good choice if you're looking for a magnesium supplement that absorbs well and doesn’t cause side effects. I’ll definitely buy it again.

Our experience with this magnesium
We first purchased this magnesium in November of 2024. I purchased it because I was having anxiety before sleep and not sleeping soundly through the night. Once I found the right dose for me, it has worked really well. I'm much less anxious before bed, even ready and happy to go to sleep, and I usually only get up once during the night. My husband believes it has led to an improvement in his restless legs and also his chapped lips. Of course, check with your doctor and see if they recommend supplementation, but this was a great buy for us. The tablets are large and chalky, but you get used to swallowing them and sometimes milk or juice makes that easier than water. We're still buying the same brand and dose as we first did.

Sleep Supplement Review
I've been taking this supplement about an hour before bed, and it's really helped me fall asleep faster and sleep more restfully—without relying on harsh sleep medications. The standard dose is two tablets, but I’ve found that just half of one tablet is enough for me to get a good night's sleep without feeling groggy in the morning. The only downside is the size of the pill—it’s pretty large and can be tough to swallow, especially if you have trouble with big pills like I do. It usually takes me a few swallows to get it down. Still, the results are worth it!

This is like melatonin's cousin, it can knock you out!
----Update 4----So it's actually been more than a year since I posted my original review, and I'm at the end of the bottle. But don't be fooled, I actually stopped taking this for a while. Months even. I think it's a combination of getting annoyed by the grogginess this can give you and also my subconscious sabotaging my attempts to take this on a routine.BUT I want to say, being off of this made me realize the difference in my mood and anxiety when I was actually taking this. I've been having consistently elevated levels of anxiety, almost doomsday thinking that's very distracting and takes an emotional toll. You don't realize how bad your thoughts are until you start paying attention and compare them to how they used to be. I decided to look for the bottle again because I was getting annoyed at the racing thoughts. I took half of ONE pill last night at midnight, and the difference in my calmness was astounding. My sleep as well. Doesn't the packaging recommend 2 full pills? I believe I also said that before as well, so this is 1/4th of the dose. And I STILL felt so much calmer today. Maybe that's how deficient I am of magnesium? I had more dreams as well where I would instead usually wake up; so that was probably my body keeping me asleep. I ended up needing a nap around 3.p.m. today, so that was either my body telling me I need a better sleep schedule or how stressed I have been. You don't realize how long you've been in fight/flight mode until your body manually flips the switch to rest and relaxing mode. And this does that, you're not just fooling yourself, it really forces you to relax, which is a good yet unfamiliar feeling for me. I'll take this over the racing thoughts any day. I was wondering if I should repurchase it, but now I'm leaning towards yes. Or some form of magnesium. If there was a version of this that didn't make me feel groggy, I would have repurchased a long time ago.---Update 3---I've been taking one pill most days for at least a month now and I think I am starting to see benefits. Whether it's just from more consistent, prolonged sleep or if it's actually the magnesium well, I have no idea. Before where it would be difficult to get anything done in panicked procrastination, my brain is starting to allow me to do tasks in fragments. I can finally clean part of my room on days where I could barely get out of bed. It's not much, but it's better than nothing.I also want to note two things:1) This will shift your sleep schedule like melatonin does. So if you take these and fall asleep at a certain time today; you will fall asleep around a similar time tomorrow EVEN IF you skip a dose. You should keep that in mind if you have certain things scheduled at night time differently; or else you might be that friend who falls asleep on the couch at the get-together. Maybe skip it for two days before you're planning to be a night owl for a day or two.2) There is a VERY SLIGHT analgesic effect. Maybe it's placebo or me being tired, but I don't feel the usual hypersensitivity in my gums when brushing my teeth. There's usually a sore spot that hurts to brush, but it doesn't feel as bad when I take this a bit before. Maybe it's the neurotransmitters of pain being blocked by the Glycine. Either way, it's welcome.---Update 2---I've noticed that I've actually been having more dreams while taking this (even with consistently half a dose) and I feel like that is a good sign. I remember reading that dreams occur when you're closer to waking up, so perhaps instead of waking up at that moment, my body stayed asleep due to the magnesium. I remember this happening with melatonin as well, so I will take that as a positive.Last night I tried taking a full dose, and regretted it all day today. I don't know whether I am THAT much depleted in magnesium or GABA that my body cannot handle it, or perhaps my body is just sensitive and used to being in fight or flight; but two pills (a full dose) really puts me out of commission the whole day. I took it around 10 P.M. last night, and felt its effects until 6 P.M. the next day. It's not even that I feel groggy; it's almost like I feel dissociated and floating. Is that what it truly feels like to be relaxed? Maybe I've been anxious for so long that I truly don't know. I felt unmotivated for the whole day, perhaps fear is a stronger motivation than I give it credit for. With one pill I don't feel panic, but with the full two pills, I barely even feel urgency, no "aliveness." It makes me wonder if people who take certain mental health drugs experience this, I hear some of say they feel a "nothingness" if their dose is too high. Perhaps during the weekend I would do a full dose, but I don't know how I could function like this on a work or school day. One pill at night seems to be the best bet.---Update 1---I've used this for a few days now at varying doses and I think I'm leaning towards 1 pill before bed, which is a half dose. It seems to be the closest to a compromise between the cloud 9 high brain fog and actual effectiveness. We'll see how that goes though. Also, I want to mention that the pills are relatively large; this isn't just your ordinary Advil sized pill. A good life hack is to swallow large pills with yogurt or ice cream if you can't down it in water.More importantly, I want to describe how I feel with the anti-anxiety effects of this supplement. I have high anxiety, my brain is always thinking in 10 different directions along 3 meridians of past present and future. I believe this formulation of magnesium and glycine cuts those thoughts in half. It's like a railroad switch that forces your fight or flight brain train (aka sympathetic nervous system) to go into relaxation mode (parasympathetic nervous system.) It isn't healthy to stay stressed in fight or flight mode all day, and that's what anxiety is. If I take the full dose of this in the morning, I imagine this is how people who get high feel. (I have no idea, but I feel lazy and just want to stay in bed all day.) So I'm trying to stay away from that. But if I take the lower dose at night, during the day I will still feel like myself, but those other busy thought "stations" are shut down. There's less panic and worry. But it also feels a little quieter and "lonelier" in my brain if that makes sense. Less activity, more rest. Less panic overall. It makes me wonder, "is this how 'normal' people feel?"---Original Review---I used to take melatonin but stopped out of the hassle and fear of dependency. I did NOT buy this magnesium product as a sleep aid replacement, it was my fault for not researching the different forms of magnesium carefully enough. I read that magnesium was good for calming down anxiety, and that we are often deficient in it. Magnesium apparently also supports over 400 body functions. Magnesium Glycinate from what I have read is one of the better absorbed formulations and it doesn't cause stomach or bowel issues. (And so far I can attest to this 3 days in!)I should have looked more closely, but on the bottle it says "sleep support," and I can definitely tell you that this will have the same effect as melatonin. I could not take a full 5 mg of melatonin without knocking out 1-2 hours later AND feeling brain fog all morning. I would have to split the pill in half to make the effects bearable. Did I have better sleep though? Yes. Was my health better? Yes. But the brain fog and grogginess has its drawbacks. I COULD NOT drive in the morning if I took a full dose of melatonin the night before. And the same goes with this magnesium so far. I made the mistake of taking a HALF DOSE (1 pill) of this magnesium in the morning and felt the exact same thing. Was I calm? Yes. But I felt I was high on Cloud 9 when I should be focusing. The next day I took a quarter dose (1/2 of one pill) and it was more bearable, but still had an hour or two of some "cloud 9 sleepy high" as I would call it. Magnesium is advertised as being able to be taken at any time of day, but I would recommend only taking this at night as a sleep aid. With my limited chemistry knowledge and research, the Glycine part of this Magnesium compound turns into GABA; a neurotransmitter that helps to calm you BUT also "aids" in sleep. So that explains that.So how do I feel about this? I'm a bit unsure if I should just take this at night like melatonin or if I should just look for another magnesium product for deficiency. I don't want anything effecting my bowels though and/or having a less effective form of magnesium, that seems like the worse of two evils. This stuff is definitely working, but I would have to find a way to make it work optimally for my schedule. Even if I take it at dinner, I would not be able to stay up past 9 pm without napping. This is basically like melatonin. I would not drive after taking this. I would not schedule anything past an hour after taking this. I wouldn't even trust myself to brush my teeth before bed an hour after taking this. This will KNOCK YOU OUT!What I'm holding out for are the long term benefits of reversing the magnesium deficiency, so hopefully it will all be worth it.
