I was confronted with a large dried blood stain on a light coloured sofa. I first tried recommended household remedies. No joy at all. I then bought a bottle of hydrogen peroxide and used as directed. It did have a minor effect but so minimal that I was not encouraged to try repeat applications. As a last resort I tried the Dr. Beckmann. I followed the directions and finally scrubbed the stain with the same Dr. Beckmann carpet stain remover that has been successfully applied to our carpets (but not blood). I was astonished how reduced the blood stain was. A second application was called for and that followed by the carpet stain remover reduced the stain to near invisible. I can still see a feint shadow of the stain and maybe a third application would completely remove it. But my wife insists it is because I know where it id. Nobody else would spot it.
