Near professional quality tool, love it.

Guess I'm slow on the uptake. Took me YEARS to find the right tool for the right job. This tough tool took me out of the Dark Ages changing watch spring bars. I was trying to use jewelers screwdrivers which usually bent, broke scratched the case & band. My thumb nails (which also bent & broke!) didn't work any better,...either did, luck or ignorance. Finally got to the point it wasn't worth the chance of scratching my more expensive watches. Luckily, ran across this Bergeon tool. Looks like a well made dental tool so I decided to give it a whirl.MY LIFE CHANGED!!! This is one tough tool that works every time & does NOT bend or break. Looks like its built to last for years,..and new tips are available. Sweet. The 'V' design tip grabs the bar just right & gives great control when maneuvering the pin & searching for the hole. It takes me much less time to find the blind hole than any other tool I used previously. What used to be a frustrating chore became a quick easy peasy snap!Works great on difficult tight tolerance stainless steel watch bands, leather and MilTat nylon /velcro bands. Even used it on Curved spring pins which are more difficult to compress & control vs straight pins. But the Bergeon 6767-Fine tool tames whatever pin I'm handling & makes it a breeze. I've used the tool on 20mm, 22mm, & 24mm curved & straight pins without a hitch.BOTT LINE: TOP QUALITY & PERFORMANCE. 26$ & free ship I thought was expensive at first,...but well worth it. Can't think of one negative thing to say... & I've been in some tight spots with this tool. What used to be a tedious royal pain is now Easy Peasy. Saved me many trips to jewelers to change bands & they always seemed to add a few scratches in the process! So I took charge, tooled up & I'm a happy camper. EASILY EARNS 10-STARS!

I value my Longines Watch so much, it is much more than a simple male accessory, for me it is a tool that helps me measure the passage of time quite accurately, something that is very useful and essential in my job, in everyday life it is a companion of memorable moments and inglorious situations, a true Spartan soldier. I decided to acquire a very essential spring bar tool to be able to exchange the steel bracelet for a leather strap (just for a change) or simply when I clean my watch, I have to remove the steel bracelet to remove the dirt that accumulates more deeply constantly in all spaces of the watch, it is my daily driver that more I can say. Bergeon was undoubtedly the right option, which you can find more guarantee in a company that has more than a century manufacturing tools for maintenance and repair in horology, it is also Made in Switzerland synonymous with quality and prestige. The performance of this spring bar tool is excellent I chose it in the 6767-F version (Fine forked tip) You do not make any effort to remove the spring bars, the fine forked tip of this tool allows you to hug the spring bars perfectly I forget about The fear of scratching or damaging the case of the watch, the stainless steel with which it is manufactured (according to Bergeon) is perceived as resistant until now, it has not been broken into several pieces, it has an engraving on the handle that allows you a better grip. I am not a collector of horology pieces, much less someone who is professionally dedicated to the care or maintenance of watches, therefore I cannot say in depth if it is actually an excellent tool for rough and constant use. I'm just a guy who repeats 'I value my Longines watch' That is why I decided to invest in a Bergeon part that will give me good performance, clearly I have not made a mistake, comparing it with an analogy: How much do you love your sports motorcycle?) Would you maintain it with any tool?) Would you lubricate the engine with any oil ......... Only you can answer that question, in my case I know the answer well. Cheers !!!!

For a product like this - something with a pretty specific function that doesn't do much else - it's difficult to write a review as it either works or it doesn't. I bought a replacement watch strap for one of my watches, and while the strap came with its own spring bar tool, I figured it would be worthwhile to buy a higher quality tool as I imagined the "free" included tool would likely be low quality.This tool worked well enough: I was easily able to replace the watch band and didn't have any trouble. The fork is quite fine and easily slid between the lugs and strap on my watch. The fork itself was solid without any give despite some relatively high force. The tool as a whole is solid with significant heft and is long enough that holding it is quite easy and comfortable. In contrast, the "free" tool included with my replacement band was extremely small, weighed almost nothing, and I'm skeptical that the fork would last a significant amount of time.As a non-jeweler who is probably going to use this tool only rarely, it served my purposes and did so well. Is it the best tool around? I have no idea. But if, like me, you just need something to replace the occasional watch strap, this will probably work for you.

There are tons of spring bar tools out there, at a much lower cost to be had. So is it worth paying the extra cash for a Bergeon versus a generic one? The short answer? definitely.Those generic ones, or worst yet, the free ones you get that are sometimes included when you buy a new strap, are not even in the same league as the Bergeon.The Bergeon is much sturdier, handles more precisely and comfortably, made to a higher standard, and the fork end retains its edge a lot better. Bottom line, it’s simply the greater spring bar tool. Like a lot of things, you really do get what you pay for. After all, there is a reason why the pros use Bergeon. After using it, it’s clear that I won’t be going back to the generic ones.

I had a cheapo springbar tool that came with a kit and it didn't work for beans. This one worked first try and made swapping out the watch band on my Seestern S434 very easy. Very happy with this tool!

I bought this tool following the high praise recommendation from one of the YouTube watch promoters. After receiving it, I used it to adjust a few straps. The tool works nicely and does the job it is supposed to do. It feels sturdy and precise. This is a good purchase. I recommend it to any watch collector as a must have.
