Works great
Reviewing the TOYO Original Supercutter® Metal Handle Straight Head Oil Cutter.I'm not even an amateur. I just needed to cut some glass to replace one that broke in a large picture frame. My wife had a very large pane that could be used as a donor. I also wanted to salvage a section out of a large mirror that had cracked. After watching many Youtube videos but still experiencing frustrating attempts to learn to cut on scrap pieces with the devices they sell in the local hardware stores (and in a local craft store but part of a large chain), I bit the bullet and sprung for the Toyo (once it came on sale). It was very easy to learn to use and I very quickly gained enough proficiency and confidence to do the jobs. It is a pleasure to work with and the built-in oil reservoir holds oil very well—I store it upside down which might explain that—and it also dispenses the oil very well.

Good Quality
I got this cutter to replace an old steel wheel cutter that had seen better days. I'm currently cutting recycled 5-6 mm float glass for a set of small shelves.Despite the pandemic, this tool arrived only a week late given I live in regional Australia. The tool is exactly how it is described as of good quality. I use a lubricant, kerosene, or a light grade air tool lubricant as this gives me a better finish in my opinion. This will also ensure maximum life of not only the tungsten cutter but also the cutter axle.

Never lets me down
I’ve been a glass cutter for 37 years and always rely on Toyo cutters. You can get cheaper cutters yes but I’ve never had a problem with Toyo’s but have with others.
