Works beautifully
I ordered this harness with more than a little trepidation. I have a somewhat bad back and I decided to try to do something to extend my hunting time for metal detecting to more than a couple of hours. On receiving the well packed harness, I assembled the unit and went out for my first expedition. To say it was an experience in completely re-learning all my moves was an understatement. I had to adjust everything and come up with a completely new set of movements for digging targets. And the harness did require some adjustment throughout the dig to accommodate my personal comfort.So... I ended the first hunt with the jury still out on my hunting with this harness. The next day, I went out and tried again and had a much more comfortable hunt. The harness really does work well and my Minelab Explorer SE Pro detector "floats" above the ground and is much nicer to hunt with. The secret is in adjusting the plastic weight-bearing rods to match your body height and it pays to watch the Minelab video that covers all the adjustments. What I really liked was the ability to put my finds bag on the lower belt and to be able to put my large Pistol Probe pinpointer on the other side for easy grabbing (something I had never found a good way to do before!) - The harness makes adding accessories easy and I'm sold on it - I'll never hunt without it again!Suggestions for new users - Get used to clipping the detector on and off when digging a target. At first it was hard to do, but I have it down now to a routine and it works well. And take your time fitting the harness to your body needs - work on comfort first and consider your first hunt as a "get to know the harness" exercise over and above being a serious hunt!A couple of suggestions for the good folks at Minelab: 1. For the lower-belt, consider some sort of clipping system for holding finds bags or other unwieldy accessories in one place. I'm going to come up with my own solution of this sort, but it is somewhat maddening to have to keep it from sliding around - a clip or two to hold a bag tight to the belt would be really helpful. 2. The other suggestion is to add more Velcro EVERYWHERE possible so more accessories can be hung off of the harness. One final suggestion for users - The rod arrangement for the load-bearing part of the harness comes in two pieces that assemble either for right or left handed users. The issue I ran into early on was that the rods can come apart once you are taking the harness on or off. I use a short length of electrical tape to hold the rods together and it works just fine. These two rods plug together with a really neat marking system that is pretty intuitive, but I do wish that the Left and Right indicators were painted to allow 50+ year-old eyes to better see the rod connections so it is simpler to get the plugins right.Another item I'm going to try adding is a hydration system for the back - seems like a natural for desert and hot-weather hunting.Final point for the folks at Minelab - I own a Excalibur 2 model for water hunting - How about you guys come up with an aquatic version of this to help with water hunts? I'd love to try this in water, but I think the materials need to be changed to be more tolerant of fresh and salt water.Bottom line: This is the best tool I ever run into for getting my accessories managed and extending my hunt time dramatically. I'm very impressed! A very worthwhile purchase and it is now part of my regular hunting regimen.

Very nice
I really like this harness, I use it all the time when I'm detecting. I also purchased the extra arm/support rod for the other side. It really helps to balance out the harness. It fits well and is comfortable to wear. The bungee system allows me to swing my detector for longer periods of time without getting fatigued. I have a heart condition so this is really beneficial for me to be able to go detecting without the added stress. I would recommend this harness to anyone looking to make their treasure hunting day last longer.

Well made with lots of adjustments.
The Pro Swing 45 really helps to reduce and redistribute the weight of my metal detector. This is especially helpful when using larger search coils. I also bought the crossbar kit which included another J-strut and this really helped balance the weight over both of my shoulders. This is a well made accessory that can be used on any metal detector.

Adapt this to E-trac with a Husky Hang All and it's awesome for all day big-coil hunts.
When used with the Minelab E-trac, it enables all-day use of very large coils (such as the excellent NEL Big Coil 13x17) without excess soreness in your back and shoulders. However, the small velcro hook that comes with the harness works poorly with the E-trac.So, when you buy this, also buy the 24" Husky Hang All product. The Hang-all forms a cradle in which you "hang" the E-trac. Then you can take back control of the handle and buttons. Amazon doesn't seem to have any Hang-Alls, but you can get them at Home Depot.Attached an image of the connection setup that works well for me. Don't try to give ALL the weight to the harness - just give it ~3/4 of the weight and you'll be blown away by how well it swings. Add the Quick Belt System QBS37 10"x9" 2-pocket "Boxed" Covered Bag for Tools, Materials, Accessories, Hiking-Camping-Fishing-Hunting-Dog Walking-Dog Training and Quick Belt System QBS7 2-buckle Nylon Modular REVERSIBLE "Add-A-System" Sleeve for Tool Belts, Utility Belts and Most Other Belts for Men-Women-Children-Hiking-Walking-Camping-Fishing-Hunting-Dog Walking and you'll have a finds bag you can hang from this system also.In photo:A) Pro Swing 45 Harness (this product)B) Nite Ize Size-5 S-Biner Dual Spring Gate Carabiner, StainlessC) Husky Hang All (24")D) Husky Hang All "hugging" the E-trac

It did reduce some of the weight or felt like it, for the CTX 3030
I used it on several occasions and found it to be a bit cumbersome. It did reduce some of the weight or felt like it, for the CTX 3030, E-trac and the Excal. I will for the time being continue to use this harness to better determine the effectiveness and practically of this set up.

All Day Long
This harness came standard with my GPZ 7000, which is a big detector to swing around all day. At first the harness was uncomfortable and awkward. So I kept playing with it, BINGO! figured out how to tune and SEAT the support rodes properly(I had messed it up). spent a bit more time after that adjusting the harness itself for my torso. After that this thing was a game changer for me. I bought a second one for use with my CTX3030.FYI...also purchased a second support rod and installed it on the left side of harness, that way I can change hands and still have the support for terran changes. This harness and support system would work with any detector I have ever used, it's about as universal as you can get.It is still a bit bulky, but great support and padding, not really a down side when your in the field all day.Thank Minelab!
