made of plaster then painted they are not resin but still worth the asking price. i have seen plaster sets go for a very high price. love the pieces and am pleased with them and look like the characters. not heavy though that does not matter and would buy again. not like the picture as the picture shows them with an antique stain finish. mine are plain brown and cream with no felt base and again that does not matter i have a nice chess board for them with two inch squares ideal for the set.

The dark pawns are orcs and the white pawns are Sam.Brand new and very well packaged.All you need is a chess board.Great size and good weight . Saw the same set made of the same stuff for around £400 online so i loved the price. with black vinyl square stickers i made a table into a chess board. The pieces came wrapped well. Out of the box the black pieces are not black they are brown and thats not great but my GF likes the set. nice pieces to play with however due to the design there is no distinct rook or horse so it takes a bit of getting used to. The colour is an annoyance

Really good figures in great detail. Very happy with the quality and price. I’m sure my son in law will love this set. Came very well packed and in good time. I’m not familiar with the lord of the rings characters myself, but having checked them out against the film characters on line, they appear to be a very good representation.

I was really excited about receiving this chess set but unfortunately it doesn’t look like the pictures through which it being advertised.The detailing of the pieces is rough and quite poor as you can see from the pictures I’ve attached.The coloring is also completely different from the marketing pictures with the black pieces being an actual washed down brown and the wite units being more of a whased down beige.The feel of the pieces is quite alright and in terms of size they do match the description.Later edit: I was contacted by the supplier regarding the quality of the items delivered and offered a discount on the purchase. Based on the new price the chess set is definetly worth the money.

Got this for my chess chess and LOTR enthusiast partner and the details on the pieces is great for such a low price. Packaging seemed a little high but once it came it was very clear to see why, individual wrapped including soft polystyrene nuggets to protect them. Each piece has a nice weight to them and look very similar with very minimal differences between them.

it arrived as expected im really very happy the chess peaces look great great wight to them I had my dads chess board repaired so it looks great together a most has for any chess fan + any LOFTR fan

A fantastic chess set. It has inspired me to construct my own chessboard to accommodate the pieces. I've been purchasing materials to do the task and I know that I'll be pleased with the finished product so that the pieces are complimented!
