I've never owned a lava lamp and this one reminded me of swimming pools at night or snorkeling at night, which is really specific, but if that's a thing you did/do, you'll know how relaxing and almost otherworldly it can be. I've had it for a few months now. I remember to run it so the wax doesn't get clogged. It heats up, but a lava lamp won't work without the heat, so that's a good thing. It's a nice companion for late night work and/or gaming.

This lamp is horrible and not 'soothing' or visually pleasing!
Unfortunately this lava lamp is horrible!! See pics !! (Lamp was on for several hours) Observed lamp on several different occasions and it was NEVER good!!

Pretty lamp but VERY cloudy water
the water in the lava lamp is NOT as clear as shown in the pictures...the water was so cloudy that we couldn't even see the wax moving about & in motion. We returned it & got a refund. It unfortunate because it is a pretty lamp, just wish the water wasn't cloudy. Pictures shown are deceptive!!
