I’ve been really happy with this CARPURIDE CarPlay screen. I have absolutely zero sense of direction and rely on Maps on my phone to get basically anywhere every time I have to drive. This car play screen means I now have a nice, big display to show my route navigation clearly, without having to attach my phone to the windscreen (and then usually leave it behind when I stop).The split display function means I can have the controls for my music player on one side of the screen while the map remains visible.The screen is nice and clear, bright, and responsive to light so that night mode activates when it should.I’ve had no issues with connectivity, my phone just automatically connects to it when I start the car and it powers up.The screen needs a 12V supply, you can’t use mains (unless you have an adjustable voltage power supply), and it won’t run off a 5V USB power bank. If you want to, you can just use the car’s cigarette lighter to power it, but it’s also super straightforward to hardwire if you are confident working with car electronics.There are a couple of mounting options included in the box so you can choose why works best for your car, and the mounts hold the screen securely but still allow it to be demounted easily for security if you want to remove the screen when the car is parked up.I’ve had zero issues with this screen, it does everything I need it to do (plus some extra features that are a nice touch). It’s such an easy upgrade that has made a massive difference in my older car.

Various power sources work, but a fully charged power bank did not. Luckily, the 12V supply in the car was sufficient.Overall, the experience is good with the wired Apple CarPlay functionality. The touchscreen is actually nice / responsive when using the wired connection (unlike wireless CarPlay which can be a bit laggy). The added benefit of having a charging slot in the adapter for the iPhone is a plus, especially on longer drives.The screen size is just right, making apps like Apple Maps easy to see, and it's bright enough to see even on sunnier days with the roof down. Having an aux and power is great, since I can charge my iPhone and play music through it at the same time, and in an Audi 2008 it fits well with the rest of the dashboard's aestheticOverall, a good unit.

This unit is a revelation to me. It almost makes driving a pleasure again. What I particularly like is the split screen with maps on the left and audio and phone controls on the right. It would be possible to play video, games or use a web browser although this would be spectacularly unwise, but having voice control for hands free calling is a blessing.The car play screen connects to my phone as soon as I turn on the ignition and I have it set up to send the audio to my car radio using the FM transmitter function. My car is just that little bit too old to have auxiliary input. There is a reversing camera but I already have that function in my dash cam so I haven't installed it. However, I did try out the camera and it gives a very good picture when sitting on my dining room table.This is my first integrated infotainment system and I couldn't be more delighted.

The media could not be loaded. This portable carplay has definitely been one of the best upgrades in the past few months allowing me not only to have access to navigation and good entertainment but also to be able to switch between cars as I do change the cars for work on a daily basis.The installation process is quite easy, just requiring setting up the screen, connecting with my phone and the Bluetooth function works well for streaming music and making hands-free calls.It has a good quality of the sound and everything syncs smoothly with no issues at all.The car for work is quite big and I would always struggle to find parking spaces, however this carplay has backup camera which allows me to see everything at the back of the car which makes it easier and safer to do parallel and reverse parking and the quality of the video is very good providing a clear View of what is behind me.The screen is very responsive and it also allows me to mirror my phone which gives me access to my favorite music and playlists. The design is minimal and it fits well in all the cars that I'm using having just the right size with a large screen however it does not clutter the dashboard.This carplay definitely made my driving experience better making it easy to use and I'm very happy with how it performs so far.

This is a great device for upgrading you older car that does not support Apple Car Play or Android Auto. This unit is powered by USB-C and you can connect you phone wirelessly via bluetooth. You can have the audio come from the speakers of this little unit but as you would probably expect its a bit tinny. There is a aux out port which you can plug into your car so audio will come via your cars speakers.This package comes will all the cables and mounts you will need to get this fitted to you car. I was surprised to see this has a reversing camera. I have not installed this as it would take a lot to route the cabling but it is another feature for cars that do no already have reversing cameras. The unit also has port for micro SD cards and USB. Should you want to it is possible to watch films in this screen although I would advise against this.It is often the car with units of this type that they are very underpowered and that is a little bit the case here. When trying to navigate the screen it is a little bit laggy. Nothing that makes this impossible to use but might need to wait a second or two for menus to open or animations to finish.Overall i think this is a vert good product for upgrading a car that is not compatible with Apple or Android software. It is a bit laggy, I would have preferred it to be a bit smoother but it's better than not having anything at all.
