Heroes of the Environment: True Stories of People Who Help Protect Our Planet (NRDC)

This book taught me a lot about people who saved the environment that I did not know before. I like all of the chapters and this is a great book.

I'm a student teacher. I teach SPED science. I got this for my interactive read-aloud for teaching intermediate literacy class. It's been great. It's a really good book. Ranks at a fairly high lexile, but brings environmental science issues close to home.

My 10 year old grandson loved this book. So difficult to find true stories for this age group glad Amazon had this one available.

Great book, we bought it because it goes with the Build Your Library program. It has short stories of people, of different ages and backgrounds who have done something to help the environment. We read it with my son (9).

I loved it and so does my 8 year old grandson! He keeps saying, "Grammy can I read another story in the Heroes of the Environment book?" It's truly a book to inspire all ages.We should be hearing more about the people who make such a difference for our lives. They are true heroes!You will be amazed at the wonderful ideas that these heroes have created and put into practice.No kidding: go ahead, check them out!!

Heroes of the Environment is a beautiful, inspiring book containing stories of what can be done when a person is motivated to make a difference in their community or in the world. I would love to see this book available in our schools to give our children a view of what is possible. Everyone can make a difference using whatever talents they have. Wonderful little book.

I am so excited to read this book to my third graders. I have loved reading about all of the things individuals do to help the environment!

I was positively inspired by the stories in this book! A great book to exemplify how one person can make a difference, not just for the environment but for any cause that's important to you. I am planning to get this book for each of the third-fifth classrooms for my daughter's school. And I'm also buying a copy to have in my house!
