Thought I would make all aware, purchased in September 23, thought it was time (December 24) to check for any firmware updates, it’s appears I’ve missed two. Using my Mac OS Sequoia 15.1.1, I mount the lens on my Mac and I carry all the instructions as described but when I copy/drop the update into the DFU it's not uploading/replacing the firmware new for old. I contact Viltrox technical UK they instructed me to contact the supplier which is Viltrox! I then explained that this isn’t a supplier issue and more a technical issue, so they instructed me to contact Viltrox.com! Very very poor technical help as it’s clear there is some incompatibility issues with OS. So be aware.Update 30/12/2024, after attempting to download 01.05 utilising my USB C from my portable hard drive and low and behold the new file copied across and updated the firmware for the lens, so ensure you use a good quality high speed data lead.So now I’ve got this sorted I would give the lens 5 stars, as it’s good quality and brilliant value for money.

Compact, light and Excellent Value. For the money, well worth it!

The lens arrived bang on schedule and was well packaged by Amazon in a strong cardboard box. The lens itself was well packaged by Viltrox in a strong box. Have just tried it a few times on my Nikon Z5 full frame camera and it works well. Autofocus works nicely and images are sharp with nice colours. This is my first Viltrox lens for my Nikon Z5 and I am pleasantly surprised at the all round quality at this price point. Looking forward to shooting some landscapes and cityscapes with this lens.

Just found how to update the firmware. You must use the Viltrox Phone App and the len's Bluetooth.USB only powers the lens during update and tweaking. Optics and sensitivity good at this price point. Nikon Z.

Perfect for using as a gimbal lens:)

I've tried two copies of this lens (both from Amazon) on three different Nikon Z bodies (2 x Z6ii, 1 x Z7ii), with the same result. Sometimes the lens will simply not connect and turn on for anything between a few seconds and a couple of minutes. Perhaps two faulty lenses from the same batch, it's really frustrating as when the lens does spring into life and decides to talk to the camera body, its a fantastic lens, very sharp, great IQ and decent AF.Unfortunately Viltrox were of no help, I emailed them and they eventually replied telling me to update the firmware, which of course I had already done for both the lens and the camera bodies. I replied to let them know and to ask for more assistance, but didn't get any response from them at all.Such a shame as I really enjoyed using the lens when it worked, but had no choice but to return both copies for a refund.

I've heard that these lenses are really good, especially at this price point...... However, mine didn't arrive, Amazon were very reasonable and apologetic though, which made up for the disappointment!💥
