Perfect replacement motor for my 25 year old Craftsman.
This replaced my the motor on my 25 year old Craftsman 4HP 20 Gallon Compressor. The only issue I had was figuring out how to mount it as my Craftsman used a different base. I first purchased an adjustable base for a 56 Frame motor. However, I was unable to use this mount as intended. The length was to long to fit on my compressor mounting plate. I ended using the inside part of the adjustable mounting plate as that fit perfectly between the mounting ears. I used the same center pin that the original craftsman motor used that goes through the mounting ears. I drilled out the side of the base to pin the base to the compressor mounting plate. I was able to bolt the motor to the studs of the mounting plate. The other issue was that the power connections were on the opposite side of the motor so I needed a longer power cord from the cutoff switch to the motor. The motor started right up and had no problem pumping up my tank.

It works fine at this point
I used this to replace a burned out 3.5 hp motor on my air compressor ,it fit perfectly although I had to use heavier gauge wiring (probably the reason the first one burned up). My first choice was a Baldor motor which would have been 50% more $ .iwas willing to pay that but the seller posted $400 to ship it. It works fine at this point, it brings the pressure up without a struggle and not too hot.

It worked perfectly
It started up just fine then it started slowing down, but found out that I just needed to tighten the belt and now it's working just fine

Works Great in my Ingersoll Rand SS3
After only about 5 years, my Ingersoll Rand SS3-E's motor stopped working. The motor was diagnosed by the local repair shop as having an internal short. They tried to repair it ant totally botched it up. In any case, this motor was procured and not only is it a little bit smaller physically than the original motor but it also seems to be more powerful. In any case, it's been installed for about 5 months and works perfectly.

Didn't last four days
I installed this motor on December 23... ran fine for a couple of days and then on the 27th. I heard the start capacitor explode and smoke up my garage., I need my compressor so I will get a start capacitor from Grainger and see how it goes. I admit I did not know this was such a cheap motor.
