First thing you notice when you use the lighter to light a pipe and have to turn it upside down is the lid will slap closed in an instant due to a weak spring. The heating element is not really large enough to light enough of your material to light a pipe properly. When you set the light on a surface standing up it will not stand flat because there is a screw in the bottom that is not flush with the bottom.

This is a great lighter perfect for what I wanted it for, all you do is charge it up and go no lighter blowing out no more they are a great idea. I wanted it for lighting candles and stuff no more burning my fingers, my son wants one now he loves it
