The thing makes a loud chime when it turns on and it's annoying but outside of that, everything connects automatically and recording starts. The recording does not include audio.

Right off the bat, the connectivity isn’t great. It takes 30seconds to a minute to even open CarPlay after turning the car on. But then it works just fine. Having the dashcam on the back is a nice bonus. My biggest complaint is that the sticky pads are absolutely awful. They flat out useless. It stuck for maybe 1 day then fell off overnight and chipped the unit on top. I ended up supergluing it to the console to get it secure. Honestly, you can’t beat it for the price and I’d buy it again. Don’t plan on using the unit speakers. Connect via aux cable or FM transmitter (my choice). Yes, you can connect Bluetooth to CarPlay and transmitter simultaneously.

Not sure why but I’ve test ran it now and twice directions glitched and get way off wrong and very laggy delayed missed exits turns ect multiple occasions now thanks to this. Siri is responsive for the most part. Front can. Lear as day nice. I do want to live it but for the price I expected better and with gas at almost $5.50gallon wrong directions w a lag is not worth it to me. CarPlay is great but when it lags and glitches so much it just doesn’t justify the price for me sad beautiful long spacious real estate screen. Also the Aux sucked radio is ok when not cutting out speakers not loud enough to be alone found best to be Bluetooth car setup option for audio but that’s also the one Siri can never seem to activate on.. pros and cons 100% so I say it’s a gamble you need to see take if it’s worth for you.Update9/10/23: seller was helpful in after sale support great communication great customer support. I would highly recommend this product and seller especially 100% even with some minor glitches was resolved and good to go and amazing thank you so much for the great expand assistanceUpdate 9/27/23Had for sometime now and was sent the suction adapter to mount on glass or other ways vs the main stand well it’s notCompatible and the whole design into this product is just not good I feel I want to love it but unfortunately now it’s like I’m just gonna have to toss it. It’s no good the nail used to screw on the backing of the screen to stay on to the stand or whatever you wanna call it has completely fallen inside of the back of the screen no way to get it out no way to re-screw on while adjusting the tightness to move around the screen that holds it onto the stand properly so I just have a screen that’s pretty much useless with no hold and just flying around everywhere in the glove department and there’s just no way to correct any of this and it’s just been more of a nightmare than enjoyable at this point which is why I’m having to lower my rating yet again

So, I bought this item around 6 months ago. Originally it ran good. The mounting is absolutely terrible. My mount bracket and device broke. They did send me a brand new one at no extra cost so customer service is great.Well as of recently you cannot connect your phone on latest updates in which rendered this product worthless. I basically just threw it away as it won’t connect and once you do connect it it doesn’t stay connected.
