For (slightly) more serious professionals!
This mike is something of a half-way house; in terms of build quality, stylings and price, it definitely feels aimed at a more professional audience, rather than being intended for streamers and influencers. On the other hand, it has all the shiny blinkenlights...The stand for the mike is well made and weighty enough to keep the mic stable., and installation is pretty easy: you just plug it in! Windows recognised it immediately, and the sound quality seems perfectly fine. And I like the fact that there's a physical mute button - and the ability to turn the aforementioned lights off!All in all, if you're looking for something that's a step up from the standard "streamer" mics, this is worth a look!

Decent build quality and great quality mic
Head's up: I'm not a YouTuber or a podcaster - I just used this mic for work calls on Teams. I probably don't need a fancy mic for that, with all the functionality that this offers but that's what I tested this on.This mic actually works very well and a lot better than the cheap headset I had previously been using. It was relatively easy to set up and the mic stand was sturdy, so I didn't knock it over even once, despite my best efforts. It does have a touch sensitive mute function, so be aware that it's easy to switch on ("you're on mute!" etc).Presumably the lights on this mic are designed for younger users. I left the lights on sometimes during lighthearted teams meetings but switched them off when I was interviewing candidates. There's a lot of functionality on this that I didn't use but in terms of build quality (good) and audio quality (great), I was more than happy with this mic.

Great for my gaming mad son
The MAONO XLR/USB Gaming Microphone PD100X is a hit with my gaming-mad teenage son. The sound quality is excellent, making it perfect for streaming and vocal recording, with built-in noise cancellation ensuring clear audio. The RGB lighting adds a cool, gamer-friendly aesthetic, and the mute button and gain knob make it super easy to control during intense gaming sessions. It's versatile with both XLR and USB connections, and the sturdy desktop stand adds stability. Overall, it's a great microphone for gaming and content creation, offering professional-level features at a great value.

Microphone
I've used this for video calls with Teams as I work from home, so I probably haven't made enough use of it's best features. However, the sound quality is excellent and it's super easy to set up. The colours are great as well! highly recommended, and would make a great gift for a vlogger.

Excellent voice quality.
The stand is heavy and once attached, the mic is very secure. You can also fit it to a longer mount (not included). It has a slot for headphones, and pressing the large dial button switches between volume control on the mic or the headphones. The LED lights turn white or blue depending on what you're currently set to control, and red for mute. The tiny black dot above the dial is the actual mute button, which took me a while to figure out after I somehow muted myself while testing. It's touch activated instead of having to actually press it, so beware of accidentally muting yourself when you fiddle about with the volume controls. The LED light is... massive. The entire mic is an LED lamp that endlessly cycles between rainbow colours, but can be adjusted to your prefered static colour or - blessedly - turned off entirely. I feel like it would be cheaper for manufacturers to not put giant eye-burning blazing lights on everything, but you do you, I guess. It looks pretty if you're into that stuff.I did a mic test over discord to see how it sounds and honestly? You can barely tell the difference between this and the yeti mic I've been borrowing. It's miles better than the cheap microphone I started out with, and only barely under the high-end microphone, despite being half the price. A surprisingly good-quality microphone.

I feel it is better suited to the younger generation.
The MAONO PD100X mic is a a top notch bit of kit. It’s like having a mini recording studio right at my desk. The relatives I skype tell me the sound is now much clearer compared to my to the built in mic on my all in one PC. they say it's now so clear that it’s like I’m in the same room with them even though we are over 250 miles apart.Luckily, It’s very easy to use, even for an old duffer like me! The gain and volume knobs are right there in front of you, so I can make adjustments quickly and easily without having to fumble through the many settings.Whether I’m chatting, Zooming, or Skyping, this mic does a great job. As for the RGB lighting? To be perfectly honest, I'm not that keen on flashing coloured lights at my stage of life. However, I have noticed my 16 year old son checking it out and taking a great interest, so I think I will probably end up giving I it to him now I've finished testing it. I'm pretty sure he will be delighted to get his hands on it, and will certainly make much better use of this clever little mic's many features.
