Paulo Coelho: The Deluxe Collection Paperback – January 1, 2008

Lots of books for a good price. I didn't realize they were children's books when i ordered them. So far I've read only the alchemist so can only give a review on that. The book length, theme and style are very juvenile but still a good read. I was not disapointed even though i thought i was ordering adult novels. The story was fair and had some good thoughts although it is a bit mixed and convoluted as far as religious ideas...trying to combine things that are contradictory...believing they can be related in peace seems to be the objective of the book. The result being that in trying not to offend and have a "coexist" mindset-it is likely to offend at least slightly anyone who honestly follows a religion- (new college kid liberal ideals before they have to grow up and realize that neither everything can't be true and nothing can't be true.) No judgement on the story, I only say any of that so parents training children under religious belief will be aware that they should read it as well and discussion may be necessary. For anyone else its nothing to worry about as far as parenting. The end of the book made me smile. All in all a pleasant way to spend 45 min.

I love this set of books. The box was in perfect condition. I bought this collection for me. Worth every penny!

I had watched "The Way" and I am planning to walk the El Camino de Santiago. Mr. Coelho essentially popularized the journey with one of his books "The Pilgrimage." So that is the connection. I decided to get the set because the titles seemed interesting and the box set cost about as much as four book bought separately. The quality of the books is good.I don't really want to admit that there is actually something magical about these books. The voice and language, even in translation from the Portugueze, seems to be coming from inside me...not inner vocalization, something else, strange. And there you have much of what makes Paulo Coelho one of the most translated authors in history. The Alchemist is a good place to start if you are not ready to commit.

I live to read and Pablo Coelho is such a great writer. The set of ten books was a great price and it arrived in excellent condition. I’m really happy with them.

The media could not be loaded. Beautiful set! Almost all the essential Paulo coelho you’ll get there. Fonts are regular and clean. Avery happy with my purchase.

I like reading his book because his stories help visualise and easy to have a vivid imagination of an environment in my mind years after reading the book.However, I had to buy including the ones I had bought before, which to me is the limitation of a box set. It would be nice if one can select and remove that one has read from the box set.

I can't find a Paulo Coehlo book for $5 anywhere so that alone makes this set an amazing purchase. A set of 10 books for about $50 is a super spectacular buy for me. I looked everywhere for a boxed set and couldn't find one at any stores, including Barnes and Noble. Only complaint is that the thin plastic wrapping was ripped and this is a gift. However, for the price and the fact that it's Paulo Coehlo, I still give it 5 stars.

Not going to discuss the books themselves, they are amazing! This set is very nice and a great selection, but the print is very small. If you have issues with a small print, get individual books, not from this set series.
