My husband and I have, in the last year, really gotten into board games. We started with Everdell and fell in love. We like engine builders and worker placement the best.This game is quite fun and a quick play. I wouldn't say that is an over-complicated game. This would be a good one to teach friends that haven't gotten into heavy strategy games. Don't take that to mean that there isn't strategy. What makes this game more complicated is that the rounds are short. You get 3 turns per round with only 4 rounds total. With only 3 turns when another player takes the spot you wanted to land on it makes it all the more difficult.We really enjoy this game and each time we play it we have new strategy and we never know who is winning until the final turn.I highly recommend this game if you are looking for a lighter worker placement game, with beautiful art and a fun theme.

For me this is a perfect game. Beautiful art and theme. The board and pieces are whimsical and child-like in appearance, like a classic Golden Book, but the game is surprisingly deep and challenging. Easy to setup and put away. The solo bot, Gary, is simple to run. Games can be completed in an hour. The Solo Challenge Almanac and different character abilities add a lot replay-ability.

This game looked so fun... And it is, once you learn how to play. It took quite a few reads through the extensive direction book to understand all theoves you can do and how to play the game. My husband have enjoyed playing it now that we know what to do. It definitely is a strategic game.

We purchased this based upon a YouTube video review. It has not disappointed. Everyone we have played it with loves it. Don't be intimidated by the number of pieces. We set the game board and pieces up as we read the directions, then read the directions again once we were familiar with all components and it was fairly easy to learn.

The art in this game is absolutely fantastic and it is what drew my college aged daughter into playing for the first time. She is now obsessed and we played three times in the two days. Great worker placement game with tough decisions. Love the puzzle aspect and the theme is on point. Definitely recommend!

Yes, I know it is a farming game. You need to clear your land to plant seeds or construct buildings. once planted, you can grow (tend) your crops or harvest and sell - This is where you get your points. The most points win.I would call this a worker placement/action selection game. You have a choice per turn to go to theGeneral Store (seeds, fertilizer, or water), Farmer's Market (upgrade your water, more seeds, and clear land or construct buildings) - Haven't used it yet. The Fields is where you will plant your seeds (asymmetrical), grow them, and harvest them. The trading post, another section I haven't used, is where you trade some of your resources for others. The final option is called the workshop where you can upgrade your water bucket, clear land, or construct your buildings. Buildings give you immediate or end-game rewards.Your game board is limited when you begin so it is important to clear your land to give you more space to plant your seeds and erect your buildings.The theme is there but the artwork is bland. I'm still not sure of the flow and that's where I struggle. I would say this is a middle-weight plus game.The plus is I keep playing it but I'm not sure how much longer unless it clicks.

Family-weight worker placement game with gorgeous art and production. Keymaster Games has yet to make a product that i'm not impressed by. Always heirloom levels of quality...Their artists and graphic designers are top notch! Love the addition of all the solo challenges. Harvest is the definition of "Cozy Competition"
