Quality and ease of use.
My husband is delighted with this product. He said it is much easier to use in a confined space under the car bonnet. He found it easier to by a mini heat gun and it works a treat on this product. Definitely recommend

They just don't work
The adhesive ring does not stick and the solder ring does not melt. Used as described but they just fall off.

useful pieces of kit, waterproof, very easy to use (just need a heatgun). Beware weak clips on box
PROS-solder and heat-shrink melt well with heat gun-huge number of connectors for the price (£21.99 and 5% off voucher at the time of this review)-hot-melt adhesive makes the joint waterproofCONS-clips on box barely hold it closed. I bumped it off my workbench, and the lid popped open (took about 5 mins to put them all back). I’ve got an elastic around the box now.NOTES-tip: when using these, I also have a separate length of heat-shrink tube on one of the wires, which I move over to cover the connector, when I shrink that tube, it protects the joint that much better (make sure that that heat-shrink tube cover is 5mm or so longer than the connector)-I’d be happier with just a bit more solder in each connector (there is no room for error when butting the two wire ends together, make sure they are well meshed before melting the solder)MY STAR RATINGS:1* substandard, mostly cons2** barely acceptable, cons outweigh the pros3*** meets the basic requirements, cons balance the pros4**** good product, pros outweigh the cons5***** exceptional, all (or almost all) pros

Work Quite Well but Impractical for Confined Spaces
These wiring connectors arrived nicely organised in their own plastic storage case that was contained in a simple plastic bag. There’s a good range of sizes that will suit most everyday DIY requirements.I do a lot of DIY and look after all our vehicles myself so I’m often making/repairing connections. These little things work well but it does take a bit of practice to get the procedure right and I suggest practising with some offcuts of wire before using them in earnest.I have found a spot of flux applied to the bare ends of the wire helps a lot to make the solder flow. Talking of this, it does require a lot of heat to melt the solder. I use a Dremel gas soldering iron in heat gun mode as this gives a very precise area of heat. Even so, it would be difficult to apply so much heat in a confined space (such as repairing a car wiring loom) and I imagine these would be impossible to use in a small space with a full sized heat gun. When you get it right the solder makes a good connection and the tubing seals well but I do wonder if there’s really any advantage over my previous method of soldering the wires together with an iron and then sealing with standard heat shrink tubing. These connectors are useful and work quite well and I’m sure they would be invaluable in certain applications. However, because of the difficulty using them in confined spaces and the limited advantage over traditional solder joint methods I’m knocking off a couple of stars.
