Becoming a Master Student 13th Edition

When I went back to college at 48, we had to take this introductory course. I thought it would be a bunch of "hooey". WRONG! It is outstanding for any one taking courses of any type. It's range of information is extremely broad, covering all types of study habits to develop, memory techniques, time management, and fascinating stories of people who experienced extreme hardships and made something great with their lives.The new editions are quite pricey, however, if you are having problems succeeding, this could really be worth it.

I like that there are activities, quizzes, graphs and charts to break up the text. I did feel that the publishers tried to hard to be politically correct by representing Indian Chiefs, gay couples, and handicapped individuals on most of the "Master Student Profiles." Also, the writer suggests to use 3X5 cards almost on every page (solution to everything apparently!). I definitely will content from this book in teaching a future "College Skills" class.

Very good book. I needed this for a class. It is soo interesting. My parents were so interested that they read the entire book. I had a friend come over and while she was waiting for me she looked through the book and was hooked she borrowed it. It is very interesting and you learn new things in fun and different ways. I highly recommend it!!

Everything arrived on time. It was much cheaper than buying it from the book store on college, which was priced at $85. So this is a bargain.All the pages are still intact!! All my friends who bought used books in school, had most of the important pages torn out! So I'm very happy that everything is there and the book is in perfect condition.

Just received this book. Arrived quickly.....only 4 days. Much sooner than expected. I am giving this only 3 stars because the book came with a student planner. The student planner is useless to me because it is for calendar years 2011 and 2012 and I purchased the book in April 2013. I have to go out and buy a current planner now. The book is really good from what I have read so far. I would recommend all college students to get one. Just make sure you have a current planner to use just in case you received a out dated planner as I did.

I will definitely recommend more people to buy from amazon because it is very inexpensive and i was able to get everything else on my list for school.

what a wonderful book,it has exercises in it to challenge you to be a better person and student. i love the chapters indepth but stays focused on the plan, the plan to help you become the master student. i knew some of the basics but need some fine tuning. this book help with that.
