Mantic Games MGDZO101 Marauder Faction Starter Play Set for 14 years to 99 years

I got these for 40k Ork Kommandos, Grots, and Big Mek in Mega Amour, and even a Warboss in Mega Armor. To that end the kit is a great way to field a lot of these models at a better cost and really cool looking alternative models. The only reason I do not give this kit 5 stars is simply because the models do have a lot of mold lines, and there is a lot of extra work you will need to do to convert these guys, even if you just model them as is out of the box a lot of the pieces to not fit snugly together, and the parts that require multiple pieces joining together just, wont... not a kit I would recommend to a new hobbyist, but if you're up to the challenge and have decent tools and bits for conversion these guys are amazing. It will just require a bit more time and effort.

I bought this for kit bashing purposes. The other reviews are correct, these minis need a lot of work and the plastic isn't the easiest to work with. That being said the sculps are a lots of fun. All in all, if you don't mind putting in the work this box has a lot of potential and good value. Although I have to mention my box was missing three of the little goblin guys, but it had three more of the basic orc dudes with shotgun looking guns. Not a big problem for me, but if you actually play Deadzone it might be something to keep in mind.

First off, let me just say that at the price, 20 models is a hard deal to beat.There were some flashing issues, clean up, bending, etc. to get the to the point of ready for paint.However...I bought these with the express intent of mixing in my ample GW orks bits; whenever I encountered hopelessly bad flaws (only a few) I was pretty easily able to replace/modify them, and they came out looking great.Having said that, I've been collecting and building and painting and kit-bashing miniatures in this scale for many years; those with less experience may struggle considerably more than me.If you have some building skills, then the trade-off in quality (vs GW miniatures, for example) for economy is probably acceptable. If you need every part to be absolutely perfect every time, consider looking elsewhere.The model sculpts are great and have a level of detail mostly comparable to GW. Only slightly less crisp, and after a solid paint job, most people won't notice.

Pros. Cost effective way to add some variety to your ork force. Some really nice sculpts with the general and the squigscons. Whoever designed the arms of the soldier holding two guns to slot in, you did and bad job. You will need some ability with green stuff and a hobby knife for flash lines and the giant gaps between where some of the arms and hands are supposed to meet. I needed the practice so I am not going to moan (did me some good frankly) but it really makes you appreciate the quality of some of the other miniature companies.

These models are really nice, however, there was a lot of work I had to do to get them ready for painting. The hardness of the plastic is both really nice, but also really bad for hobbying. I would equate it to the hardness of a chess piece or board game pieces. If you buy these, be ready to do a lot of gap filling, filing and refitting. Overall, the sculpts are really nice, but I wouldn't get this as an entry level set for someone.

Some really fun orc models for the price. I only wish there were a few more head choices available.

some nice sculpts but a lot of flash and mismatched parts. Mantcis got some neat ideas, need to up quality if you want to compete with gw. Which you should be doing

Petit prix pour qualité moyenne. C'est vrai, pack qui propose 20 figurines.... ça fait du volume.Plastique de qualité moyenne, lignes de moulages fortement apparentes...Certaines pièces sont tordues et difficilement redressables, voire pas du tout.Étant plus attiré par la peinture que par le jeux, la prochaine fois je mettrais plus pour une meilleure qualité...
