Odd limitation when using Apple 27" Cinema Display with M1-Max MacBook Pro
The adapter works as advertised when attached to two of the three TB3 ports on my M1-Max MBP, but shows only two low-resolution setting options when attached to the left side rear TB3 port (the one next to the MagSafe connector). I've tried Quickres, but it also sees only the same two low-res options (1280x720 or 1024x768). When connected to the other two ports, it sees a variety of resolutions, up to 2560x1440, which is that display's native resolution. I don't understand why there is a difference depending on which port I attach to. This is not a significant problem, and the adapter is a welcome way to be able to re-use an old but perfectly working display. I have also tested this with a 2015 MacBook, which has only one USB-C port (non-Thunderbolt), and the adapter works fine in that configuration. Its ability to pass through power is essential for using an external display with that one-port computer.

It works as promised and seems of high quality build.
The adapter successfully connected a Thinpad T14 Gen 1 i7 to a 27" Cinema Display (mini DP).The attempt to connect the Cinema Display to an old HP Envidia did not work.Connecting the Cinema Display to a Tablet G7 did not work.I believe the failure to connect the HP Envidia and the Android was caused by limitations on the computer and the tablet.I aimed to use the Cinema Display with the Tinkpad, which works flawlessly.

Would not work with original Apple Thunderbolt Display
This did not work with my old original Apple Thunderbolt display. The adapter appears to be well-made; it simply does not work with this display.

Works great, well built
I have no issues with this after several months of use. The are solid. The only thing I would mention that would make this a better product is if they were less chunky than they are, not that it really matters much. They do heat up quite a bit, so I'm guessing maybe that's the reason it needs to be as large as it is. Anyway quite happy with how they perform.wiThere's one thing I should note. They would not work in DisplayLinks experimental 3008x or 2560x modes. But for 4K they work beautifully.,

Converts old Apple Apple LED Cinema Display to usb-c
I ordered this adapter specifically for an old Apple monitor I had that was mini DisplayPort connection and it works perfectly. Note, this was an Apple 24” A1267 mini DisplayPort version NOT the Thunderbolt Display. My laptop recognized it instantly with no issues. The usbc power input is a nice touch. It works without external power but is nice to have so you can charge the laptop without tying up a separate usbc port. Not much more to say other than it works. If you need to convert a mini DisplayPort to usbc, this is the one to get.
