This is a nice assortment of nuts, inexplicably housed in a Valentine’s heart, yet marketed for Mother’s Day. I couldn’t find a freshness date on the package, but something tells me these have been around for a while and are now being repurposed for Mom’s Day. Who doesn’t love their mother? Get her a bunch of nuts and put them in a heart, the universal symbol of love!That’s not to say these are stale. They’re not. They are as fresh as packaged nuts with a long shelf life can be. There is a certain sameness to these, however. Perhaps because they’re packaged in the same container, they all smell and taste a bit alike. But it is indeed a lovely assortment. Pretty much equal portions of peanuts, cashews, pecans, walnuts, pistachios and almonds in a presentation box, just as shown in the photo on the product page. Comes with an easily removed protective cellophane film to keep everything in its place… no nut spills in this heart. (Allergy alert: product contains nuts!)It does make a nice gift, albeit a little bit of a weird one… the word “love” is emblazoned on a big ole red box in the shape of a heart. It opens just like a box of chocolates. And that will no doubt put the recipient in mind of V Day. But that’s OK, because I’m pretty sure they love chocolates, most people do. Unfortunately, that is what they will be expecting when they open the box.You know, a wise man once told me that life is like a box of chocolates; you never know what you’re gonna get. That advice rings so true because, well, these are *not* chocolates… and that’s just nuts!

First time using this brand! Not as salted as other brands but nice container. Stayed fresh a long time!

Some of the nuts tasted old, some tasted ok.

I purchased this for my husband, who enjoyed eating the assortment. The nuts were fresh-tasting, and I would definitely purchase again.

So this is a lovely gift box of chocolates…. I mean nuts. And that’s maybe the issue. Maybe I’m speaking for myself but I’m conditioned to expect chocolate when I see a box like this. But you know, it’s nuts. And the nuts are decent. But it’s not chocolate. I would be surprised upon opening this box, I’m just saying!The nuts inside are of decent quality, but nothing too special. Good enough crunch, and certainly a nice gift, as long as the recipient isn’t expecting chocolate!4 out of 5.
