Good Size Great Value
I'm using these on a MTB I use to ride fairly technical trails. Shoes are size 13 Nike Terra Kigers, and these pedals are a very good fit for these shoes. As other reviews mention, the bearings were a little stiff out of the box, but it isn't noticeable when riding. At this price, these are hard to beat. Plus, the old school BMX look is always a plus.

Excellent Grip, rough turning, bent after fall
These pedals grip a pair of sneakers like a bear trap. My shoe size is 13 and I feel secure placing my big feet on these slightly wider than most pedals. I replaced the OEMs clipless pair that came with my Schwinn Rocket as the plastic adapter to make those a plain pedal was just too small and did not grip well, nor did the plastic cover stay clipped on the pedal. The bearings on these bear trap pedals seem a bit tight and noisy compared to my OEM pedals that had very smooth turning. You can not tell the difference when riding, just when you turn them by hand. They kind of go bumpy-de-bump.After a few months of use I finally fell hard on by bike and noticed the outside of the pedal bent inward about 3/8 inch or so. For as thick as the metal band is this surprised me when I noticed it. The screws held and the pedal is still usable.

These metal ones (and don't seem to weigh more) allow all kinds of shoes and boots with ample articulation for muscle developmen
These got me out of toe clips which I always used. I got them for my wife on a road bike which we ride on and off road.My mountain bike came with similar plastic ones (no go); they are going to be replaced asap. These metal ones (and don't seem to weigh more) allow all kinds of shoes and boots with ample articulation for muscle development in good comfort, grip and power (power(at)1500lb.com).These and a great light weight seat turned a $20 garage sale high quality ladies Raleigh road bike into an outstanding all aroundmulti purpose comfort machine. Now my other bikes are getting a make over (last time they were out of stock).

Great Pedals
I originally bought these because one of my pedals began to feel mushy and it felt as if my foot wasn't secure. After replacing the old ones with these bear traps I felt the obvious secure grip from the increased number of teeth. I was unexpectedly surprised to find that the broader perimeter of the pedal frame also served to distribute my body weight more evenly and over a greater area of my foot. The change makes the weight less concentrated to the arch of my foot and I am liking that! Well built and I like the aluminum base construction....also as stated in an earlier review, the bearings are snugger than my old ones - but that is OK with me...I don't exactly like the idea of pinwheel free spinning pedals with teeth anywhere around my shins anyway...Great Product!

Great pedals once you set them up right!
These are great pedals and the reasons I don't rate them five stars is as follows: First, the supplied reflectors don't fit snugly into holes. I "fixed" this by removing each reflector assembly, cutting small pieces of electric tape and placing them loosely over both holes for each relector aseembly, and then reinserting each reflector assembly so the tape would be forced into the hole with the assembly studs, and stay between the studs and the holes the studs fit into.. The second issue was that both pedal bearings needed to be properly adjusted prior to use..

Good design - Poor bearings UPDATE
After approximately 14 rides for a total of approximately 200 miles in a month, the pedals started clicking indicating a bearing issue. Went back to my old pedals and they had no clicking. It's too bad because I like the design of the pedals. If they had sealed bearing, they might have lasted longer. I would hope the vendor could reach out to make it right. If so, I would update my rating.UPDATE: The replacement pedals arrived in 2 days since requesting a return. This is great customer service and the reason for a increase to 3 stars. Hope the replacement pedals last longer. Will update again after some experience with the new pedals

Sturdy pedals
These are sturdy and can stand up to a lot of punishment. I am 6'2" 240 lbs and bikes tend to grind to dust under me. These have held up so far. They are heavy, so if you're into ultralite stuff, look somewhere else. The plastic reflectors aren't held on too well and can pop off, that's the only problem I've had with them so far. As others have mentioned, they do stick a little at first when rotating by hand, but a little grease will take care of that.

They get the job done, but benefit from some tweaking
These are a decent quality all-metal pedal at a good price that you can beat up on the trails and not worry too much about. The bearings are a bit stiff. if you pry off the dust caps and grease the bearings liberally, they perform better. The spikes help a lot with traction, but they aren't so sharp that they put holes in your leg if you aren't paying attention or make a mistake.
