A nice novelty
Looks-wise, this pen is great. I like the shifting colours while it's in "pen mode", and having the multicoloured magnet balls made it even more interesting to look at. I wish there was a way to attach the balls to the pen, as I think that would elevate it (while making it look rather silly). You can get a good amount of entertainment out of playing with the magnets, and they're strong enough that you can do quite a bit with them. It's a bit annoying that it doesn't have some kind of carry bag, as I'm not keen on bringing the whole box with me on the days I go to the office. In terms of using it as a pen, I immediately noticed that the pen was a bit bendy, although the ink flowed very well, and it was nice to write with. The extra weight from the magnets makes it sit quite heavily in your hand, which I liked. Being able to fiddle a bit with the magnets while I wrote was nice. Unfortunately, it turned out that the magnets are the kind of metal that leave an unpleasant smell on your hands, which is a real shame.Overall, it's a nice novelty item, but I can't see it becoming my favourite pen

More about fun
The media could not be loaded. Is it a pen, is it a stylus, is it a fun toy, does it really matter, its great novelty toy, which is very entertaining. This magnetic fidget pen gives my daughter quite a bit of entertainment, creative, but has practical uses.Once taken apart, it turns into whatever you think you can make.It has also taught her about how magnetics push and pull each other, depending on which way they are facing. The magnets are really strong, with bright coloursGood value at around £11 Jiki Crush Metric - Perfect Creative & Decompression Toys Gifts for Men, Teenage Boys! Magnets are surprising strong
My first impression of this fidget pen was good. The pen and accessories are presented nicely in the box making it good to give as a gift. The pen comes with an ink cartridge inside and 2 spare refills, 2 different size rubber stylus tips, different size metal balls and instructions. As a pen i found it to be rather heavy, i can write with it but not for too long. The nib is small but writes really nicely, i was surprised by the quality of the cartridge and how easy it is to write with, no scratchy dragging across the paper. The ink is black and flows nicely while writing. With swapping the ink cartridge for the rubber stylus nib you have a stylus pen for use with touchscreen phones and tablets. You have the choice of a large rubber nib or a small nib. I found the small nib definitely worked better on my phone and either were good for my tablet as it has the bigger screen. As a fidget toy its good. The magnets are very strong so you need to keep them spaced apart while creating different shapes. The different sized metal ball are good and come in different colours. I had a little go at making a person and it stayed together well but when put in a child's hands it was turned into so many different shapes and played with for a long time.I'm not sure who the target audience is for this as a pen anyone could use it but like myself i wouldn't use it as a fidget toy but if you give it to an older child then i can see the fidget side being used maybe losing a few bits and not being able to use it as a pen.Well thought out, nicely presented and good strong magnets.

Superficially, it's a fun idea, but...
Superficially, it's a fun idea, but, in practice, it's flawed. What is it, a fidget toy or a pen? It's difficult to be both.If you give a pen to a child (and I really can't see an adult using this apart from initially trying it out) then the assumption is that you're expecting them to write something. But, giving them a pen which encourages them to take it apart or, if you press too hard, to fall apart, seems self-defeating.Plus, you need the box with it at all times because there's 12 balls of various sizes which will be rolling everywhere without it. So, you need to carry the pen and its box everywhere with you to keep everything together. To add to the identity confusion with this pen (or is it a toy?), it comes with a warning not to use it near mobile phones or other electronic equipment because of the strong magnets which hold the pen together. And yet, included in the set, are two styluses (styli?) to use with a phone, tablet, laptop etc. So, if you shouldn't use it near a mobile phone, why include a stylus to use with a phone? The pen comes with 3 'biro' type ink refills, except they don't look like standard biro pen refills and I think, once these run out, it will be difficult to find replacements.I have to say, the pen/toy is nicely presented in its box, but that doesn't really do much to make it usable. It seems like one of those things which probably sounded good in theory but, in practice, just don't work.Initially it looks like fun, but after a few minutes becomes quite annoying, especially when you simply want a pen to write with, but your pen keeps falling apart or has parts rolling around the floor or has miscellaneous paper clips etc attaching themselves to it.
