Dog loves it!
I considered a more expensive version but I’m glad I went with this one. My dog is 40 lbs and fairly active. He seems to love being in this space as he calms immediately. I really like the mesh panel. I think this helps because he can see up front without having to stand up. Not sure how long it will last but I have used it a couple times a week for a couple of months and it’s holding up well.

The dogs love the extra room
I got this seat cover to help contain my 5 small and medium dogs when we take them to the vet or any other rip in the car. I had a great seat cover until one of the dogs got sick on it and we tried washing it. It didn't survive the washer. Then I got a replacement that was flimsy as heck and did not fit my backseat well. So, when I saw the listing for this seat cover with a seat extender, I was intrigued. I liked that the color matched my seats - I have a Subaru Crosstrek that has black and gray seats with orange stitching. When I got the seat cover, I could tell this one was going to be better than my last one. I liked that it came with a zip up cover for when I'm not using it. I also loved that the instructions were super easy to follow... except for the 3 covered boards that came with the seat cover. Nowhere in the instructions was there any information about these boards. Were they supposed to go under the seat cover? Was I supposed to actually use them for anything? You guess is as good as mine. It wasn't until I was trying to put the last strap around the driver's seat headrest did I notice a zipper at the front of the area where the dogs are supposed to sit. Hmmm.... maybe this is where the boards are supposed to go? Yep, once I figured out how to unzip the zipper, it was closed on both sides of the pull, I was able to see that there were 3 slots in the bottom of the seat cover. This is where the boards are supposed to go. I got them in their places and zipped the zipper back up.the next challenge was to test it out with the dogs. I took the 3 bigger dogs to visit a friend, and they seemed to love the extra space the seat extender part of the base provided. All three of them were able to comfortably lay down in the back seat for the short drive back home after they got used to the seat cover. Overall, I think the seat cover was a hit, but the true test will be when we have to take all 5 of the dogs on a trip in the car. I do believe it will be successful.

Great for dogs
Have the stiff board go all the way across the seat is WAY better for my dogs and easier for them to move around. 10/10 would recommend not only for the pups benefit but yours too.

Stable base for dog feet & more
My car and my puppy, (full adult lab husky mix), are safer because of this seat cover. There are sturdy yet thin boards that you place on your back seats that hang out over the footwells to create a sturdy flat base for your dog to stand, sit or lay down on and then on top of that you install the cover. The cover has multiple "connections" to your car. None of the connections are permanent and the entire thing is removable and easily stored. I am able to protect the entire back seating area. There is a study and fully attached netting between the front seats incase your dog is not able to see over the divider. There is access to the female end of the rear seatbelts so you can use your dogs seatbelt harness. This cover not only keeps a great deal of hair off the seats but keeps a lot of dirt off them as well. It also keeps my dog from accidentally damaging the seats or doors with her nails. But most of all, this gives me a little extra assurance that my dog is safe and comfortable. With the study base I know she isn't in danger of breaking any part of herself falling into the footwells in the backseat area. She also seems more confident going for car rides now as well.
