Works well. Potent clingy scent
MAXX DELUXE Silver Shampoo (Purple Shampoo) 16.9 FL oz.My shampoo arrived splattered all over the packing box. But very little product was lost.I tested this on some yellowish brassy blonde human hair extensions I have. I was overly heavy handed using this shampoo which turned the blonde a bit gray-ish purple. Lesson learned. It works much better and more evenly when I emulsified it in my hands first, which I did during my second use of this shampoo on a long blonde human hair wig I have. It was brass brass brass, and now it's a lovely shade of silvery blonde. This stuff works very well, and it is long lasting. I have washed that grey/purple hair extension 3 times since that first use and it is still grey/purple.Fragrance : I find the fragrance to be a rather non-descript perfume hair shampoo scent. Very strong scent and very clingy scent. It is really my only complaint about this product.

A very good product at a reasonable price!
I really like this shampoo. Over the years I have used many purple shampoos that did nothing but make my scalp itch. This shampoo actually corrects the brassy tones of my highlights and leaves it soft and manageable. Give it a try!

It’s a good brass toning shampoo, but it has sulfate.
Update Mar 15, 2024I originally gave this shampoo 3 stars, because it was listed as sulfate-free, while the bottle label clearly indicates "sodium laureth sulfate" as a key ingredient. Neverheless, this shampoo has proven to be the VERY BEST shampoo at removing the brass tones from my hair. I've probably tried 6 or more different ones and this one is the best by far based on results. The shampoo did help tone my bleached blonde hair, however contrary to what the product listing on Amazon stated when I placed my order, this shampoo has sodium laureth sulfate as the second ingredient after water. I only use sulfate free products, because my curly hair is very dry, unruly and hard to detangle, so it’s quite disappointing finding out this product has sulfates, which is really sad since it tones blonde hair very well, but I’m afraid it will dry out my hair if I were to continue using it.

Makes it softer within the first use
I've tried different brands and this one is better than the others so far. Made my hair shiny, smells good, and does not make my scalp itchy at all!

Surprised!
I regularly use purple products because my highlights seem to lose their tone pretty quickly and get orange. I haven't been unhappy with them but I am happier with this one!The shampoo itself is thin so make sure it doesn't run from your hands in the shower. That caught me off guard because it looks very thick.I did my normal wash routine but subbed this in with my scalp scrub. My highlights were lovely and blonde after my hair air dried rather than orange and brassy looking.

Before and After comparison photos: You be the judge.
Two years ago, I stopped dying my roots and let my curly, silver hair grow out. I've periodically used L'Oreal Ever Pure Purple Shampoo and Conditioner with good results that even my hairdresser noticed. I don't have much left in those bottles, so I ordered this MAXX DELUXE Silver Shampoo (Purple Shampoo) 16.9 FL oz. without seeing a posted list of ingredients. The Product Page's title says it's sulfate-free, but when it arrived, I found it unfortunately contains sodium laureth sulfate, barely visible due to the affixed New Item label. I should have noticed that the front picture of the bottle's Product Page doesn't say sulfate-free. Ever Pure's bottle says sulfate-free and contains sodium lauryl sulfoacetate (SLSA) that is not a sulfate, which is gentler on your hair and skin because it's not an irritant. This is important to me because I was born with Eczema.Just as other reviewers mentioned, my MAXX DELUXE Silver Shampoo bottle had leaked inside the package but luckily did not get onto another product packed inside the same box. Why wasn't the plunger on the bottle locked tightly? I wanted to use this shampoo, anyway, just to see any benefits. I took a "Before" photo to show how frizzy my rats’ nest of curls get due to the humidity. Because my hair was so dry, I washed my hair ahead of time with a clarifying shampoo and then applied Curl Talk Deep Conditioning Curl Masque for 1 hour. Once I rinsed the masque out, I squeezed some of the runny, purple Maxx Deluxe into my hand. I noticed a subtle lilac fragrance as I shampooed my hair. It did lather but not a whole lot.The directions say, "After waiting 3-5 minutes, rinse and dry your hair. Do not wash your hair with any shampoo after this procedure." What about using a conditioner? I always have to add a defining cream once I've shampooed, so I did as usual. I wrapped my hair in my t-shirt towel and let it sit for 20 minutes as I used my body lotion and got dressed. I unwrapped my hair and added more defining cream to scrunch my curls, along with a thin layer of sculpting gel and argon oil. I clipped my front hair up with a small claw because it always falls into my face as it air dries. Before bed, I gathered my hair into a high ponytail and wore a bonnet like I always do. The next day, I let it down and took my "After" photo. You be the judge. Granted, my hair isn’t blonde, but I do have silver strands throughout. I don’t think this is better than Ever Pure because I don’t get a ”Wow” impression like I do with Ever Pure. I did use a moisturizing masque beforehand. For now, I give this MAXX DELUXE Silver Shampoo a 3-star rating until further uses and comparisons that will take a while because I don’t want to over-use the dreaded sodium laureth sulfate that can have long-term effects.
